Offered for sale a pair of Kinesis Advantage Pro
« on: Fri, 29 April 2011, 01:19:13 »
Desktop and server system consolidation seem to be on the way due to moving to another place in town...

So I offer for sale

Two Kinesis Advantage™ Pro USB for PC & Mac boards (http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/advantage_pro.htm) along with a pair of Kinesis Single Action Foot Switches for each.
Both the boards are in pristine condition. One of them has the palm pads placed. That one has a little bit of dust between the keys as I used to use it at work. Other than that they both work flawlessly. Not a bit of shining on the keys can be found (I don't know why :), may be because I am so careful and too serious in always keeping my working area clean). I'll post detailed pictures when I find time but for reference you can check this thread (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?12763-Your-Computing-Setup&p=333296&viewfull=1#post333296). The Kinesis on the right hand side with palm pads on the pictures is one of the boards for sale.

Remind you that, Kinesis Advantage™ Pro USB for PC & Mac is the most advanced contoured keyboard of the Kinesis Company and should not be compared to any other ergonomic (except for Maltron) board and nor with Advantage™ USB for PC & Mac (http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/advantage-features.htm). They are different; and, hence the price differential.

The board has a default single telephone-style coupler and the foot switch has one RJ11 telephone style connector. So with a 3 way splitter you can connect 3 pedals (foot switches) to eliminate the need to use any sort of awkward key combination to activate specific applications (explained here http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/fs-non-p...plications.htm). In our case, as you do have a pair (two) of these pedals for each board you will have to get a two way splitter @ $10 from (http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/fs-non-program.htm). (http://www.ergocanada.com/products/o...accessory.html)

[Strike] Single board is for sale for and can be shipped to only Europe @ €269 including the foot switches. If you do want to get both the two boards there will be a discount and both will be sold for €500. Shipping is not included in the price. [/Strike]

[Strike]The price now for a single board €250+shipping €20 = €270 (instead of the previous €269+shipping €20 = €289), and @ €480 +shipping €30 = €510 (instead of the previous €500+shipping €30 = €530). [/Strike]

The European buyers can check the price for Advantage™ USB for PC & Mac (Pro is not sold, AFAIK in Europe for the time being) and therefore can appreciate the price asked for a premium board that comes with two switches free (each pedal sells for $35, totaling $70~ €47). For two boards shipped the saving will be a whopping [Strike]€132[/Strike] €152 ([Strike]€38[/Strike] €58 for the boards and a €94 for the (4 - four) switches that come for free).

Serious buyers please PM me...

Regards

The quotes below are not applicable anymore. Please PM me to get the new quotes. I want this not because I'm concealing the price and/or giving different quotes to different people but because shipped and naked prices are different for each country, and I'll have to calculate a price for each deal differently.

Thank you

Offered for sale a pair Kinesis Advantage Pro
« Reply #5 on: Fri, 13 May 2011, 13:29:44 »
I am tempted... because I would very much like to feel how they are like, and the more I think about it, the more I think that the 3D Maltron/Kinesis/Ergomatric layout is right for my wrists in the long run.

However, I do not touch type, which means that it would take some time and effort for me to adjust to the keyboard, and I very much dislike silver-painted plastic on computer equipment. I absolutely hate it. So the Advantage Pro is a no go.
If it had been €200 for a black board, then I think that I would have gone for it. Also, I wouldn't have had to paint it, which would have devalued it.

Sorry.
