Hey guys i convinced my friend to get a mechanical keyboard but he wants macros with it. I have heard decent things about the black widow but I was wondering if there is anything else available?

The XArmor U9GBL was supposed to have macro keys but i don't think it was/has been released (yet) has it?

The quality of the casing is not as good as a filco or others, and my girl friend would kill me if i type on cherry blues :)
the missing of NKRO is also not acceptable for me first because of the price and second because i sometimes play browsergames with my girlfriends with the same keyboard :)
the glossy finish i dislike too
so i tested the razer because i want to test cherry blues, but i send it back after testing it for 1 week.

edit: btw macros you can easily make with software and some of the macro-programms are freeware.

I type on my G15 until now and i dont use the macro keys as often as I think I would use them.
The only thing I used sometimes are the media keys but this is no problem with software to do some mediakeys with the F1-F12 keys :)
A friend buy a Filco Brown Switches and I could test it for one week. I think I would buy this too, because i dont get any brown or clear keyboards with german layout and backlit :)

Deck Legend with german Layout would be my favorite but this would never happen. The Xarmor U9BL-S would also be never available with german Layout. So the only way out is non backlit Filco oder Das but I prefer the Filco.

Wao PRO, teach me how to game and looking at keyboard at the same time.

Seriously, ''No Look Gaming'' sounds much more skillful and interesting than Touch Typing.

Media keys tsss tsssss tssss. My recommendation would be:

1- Buy good keyboard without any media keys
2- visit http://www.autohotkey.com
HHKB Pro 2: black case white keys
Filco Masjestouch v2 / MX-Reds / hard lending pads /Dye-sub keycaps
RF-87UW

Tell your ex-friend that he is a **** that needs to man up! Take a random tenkeyless, throw it at his face, kick him in the balls and laugh for an awkwardly long time.
That will teach him!
Filco Tenkeyless Brown with beige cherry doubleshots (home)
Realforce 86U (work)

HHKB Pro 2: black case white keys

If your friend is gaming, then he's using windows, and autohotkey is the only (and best) option for creating macros.  I'm not sure about Razer's software, but I know from owning my G15 that logitech lacks a timing system in their macro software.  When you record a macro and play it back, your key sequence is executed as fast as possible.  A program like autohotkey can be configured to control timing, and applications, and your OS, and anything else that someone has written a library for (there are a LOT of AHK libraries).

Programmable key pads are also an option.  Some are very expensive new, but can be found on ebay for very cheap.  I can't recommend this one specifically, but its a good example.  Program the keys to whatever you need.  This one is currently on ebay for around $25. Keyboards:
Filco 104 MX Brown (Otaku) - FKBN104M/NPEK 黒い空
Ducky TKL MX Brown/Blue 80% (White) - 1087-F 白の空
KBC Poker MX Red with PBT Key Caps - PFCN6000

BWU user here. Razer's macro is having timing(cancelable) in it's macro setting and recording but it doesn't work well in ON-THE-FLY mode. It is so god dam slow that even i type it out is faster...
