Just some nice pictures I took of my Ducky

The reason that 4,s,d have different caps is because I play Zerg.

I can take some more pics if anyone wants more detail.
Current:
Das Ultimate
          Leopold \'Otaku\' Tenkeyless  (FCR200RT)
                                         Ducky 1087 - Blacks (English)

nice. i knew you were a zerg as soon as i saw the keycaps for 4,s,d.

how do you like the ducky compared to Das and Leopold? what do you think of its build quality? worth the $85 pricing at PCHome?

The quality on mine right now seems to be pretty solid.

In regards to how I feel it compares to the Das and Leopold.

Das - The Das is definitely a lot more solid in design choices and the lines on the board. But for typing they feel pretty similar (minus the switch type differences).
Leopold - My Leo is actually my favorite board that I have currently. I think it's mainly because I really enjoy programming on my browns.

I definitely think that the Ducky was worth the $75 + ($10 for me) shipping from PCHome, I got it in 4 days. I've only been using it at home in the evenings. I'm not sure how completely sold I am on blacks but the board seems pretty solid thus far. I haven't noticed any of the issues reported in some of the other threads, other than the rivets being visible.

Nitpicker mode = ON

It's  an US keyboard, not an English one

Nitpicker mode = OFF

Never tried a Ducky but look nice and with a reasonably price.

Just a question, looks like the caps lock switch is mounted "upside down", are all the switches are oriented like the caps lock one ?

If yes would be a great news.

Yes, the are all mounted 'upside down' as far as I have been able to tell. If you want I could pull specific caps tomorrow and check.

It looks nice because I took the pictures with the appropriate lighting for the board. Instead of a bad flash.

I think that a random alphabet key is more than enough.

Usually they are mounted all in one orientation or with just the "lock" keys inverted.

So if (say) E is mounted upside down is almost sure that all the switches are oriented in the same direction.

Nevermind found a thread with the dismantled keyboard:

Very nice.

The switches are all upside down.

And pcb is single layered.

PCB is also ready for alternate layouts (too bad the plate is not)

The controller's PCB is also on a separate PCB.

All in all it's a dream for a modder.

Can you explain what you mean by "upside down"? I'm lost =|

Led hole UP, cherry writing upside down.

This is the way the switches are mounted on backlit keyboards like BW, Xarmor U9BL-, Deck Legentd and so on...

and is the opposite way of most the other keyboards.

Switch upside down mean easier way to make them backlit

Not bad if like lightweight keyboards.  .8 versus Filco 1 KG (did I spell that right?).

Plus modding Filcos gets expensive.  I do it all the time so I know.

My rule of thumb is that (almost always) Quality/Weight = k

Just the technology where the lightness is a main feature is escluded (like titanium wrist watches, or carbon fiber things)

And women.  I don't like fat women I can not lie.

I obviously agree.

But look the problem from the point of view of the evolution: fat women (and men) are just like  cars that needs less gasoline to do the same travel.

It's just the abundance of food in the last centuries that transformed an advantage in a disadvantage.

Fat woman v.s. skinny woman now = alive woman v.s. dead woman in the middle age.

Looks like a Psy fan, using 4 for the hatcheries. (Well, at least I learned that from Psy)

Ahhh, that makes sense. so it's mainly for LED modding.

Are Filco's upsidedown also?

No.

BTW also the tactile feeling is slighty affected by the switch orientation.

Is not just a placebo effect as I initially tough.

Ripometering a key with the weight slightly off center, in one direction or in the other, shows that a real effect is present.

Ripster, it's a 6  key wide space bar and there are only 2 Stabilizers and 1 switch. I can get some pics with measurements up tonight if you want.

In a forum of this kind nitpicking should be an absolute prerequisite...

And indeed...

who is not a nitpicker here can cast the first stone...
