Is this a "great find"?
« on: Wed, 18 May 2011, 17:51:33 »
I couldn't find the exact model on the cherry site, but similar ones had the mechanical switches, I'm just not sure which kind.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Cherry-CorePlus-POS-Keyboard-G81-8016LQNUS-w-CC-reader-/290461022212?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a0d37804#ht_500wt_1156

anyone know the switch type?

g81 always mean it uses MY switches, which are as horrible as rubber domes.

Ain't no rubber in any G81 I've disassembled. G81 all use copper leaf springs.
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.

Should be nope. It come with Cherry MY switch(which claimed to be more awkward than even most rubber dome) and the keycaps is just normal lasered one which isn't very attractive or demanded.

I prefer these keys over Cherry's POM keys actually, but the board is not worth as much as $19.99.

All the 1-unit sized keys on the board fit boards with Cherry MX switches and can be transplanted to them, but the longer keys and the keys on the bottom row are different and can not.
