Question about my Omnikey switches
« on: Tue, 24 May 2011, 18:41:35 »
I took the 'H' key off 2 of my Omnikey's just to see if there was a difference (I noticed an audible difference which surprised me), and I think I see a difference in the type of ALPS switch that each one has.  Observe the two images below:

One looks like a bright 'white' whereas the other is more off-white/gray-ish.  My question is- is there indeed a difference between these two switches (I definitely hear the difference)?  And if so, is it normal for two Omnikey's to have different switches?

Thanks in advance.

Well, two of my keyboards feel/sound the same (the one with the darker white switch), and the third one is the one in the picture above (bright white switch).  That one is definitely has a bit louder clicky sound.

If it's louder I would say that it is less worn.
