On to my next purchase: tenkeyless MX Brown
« on: Fri, 27 May 2011, 14:11:38 »
Now that I have my DAS Pro with Blues and my L-trac coming in next week, I would like to purchase another keyboard.  I am looking for a small kb (tenkyless) with MX browns.  The ones I have in mind are the Filco, Leopold and Choc Mini.  Any other ones out there? Which is your favorite of all the ones you have used, and how does it compare to your blues for typing if you have one? Heck, I was even thinking of returning the DAS and getting RealForce 87UB, but don't know if the huge price difference is worth it.

Thanks in advance for your expert advice!

There is also the Poker mini-keyboard.  If you want a good feeling cherry mx-brown keyboard, the noppoo would be a good choice.  The topre is different from cherry mx-blues switches so I wouldn't really think of it as an upgrade, besides the price increase.  It feels like a high quality membrane keyboard with awesome keycaps.

I have a Das Ulti w/ Blues, and a Filco Tenkeyless with Browns, and couldn't be happier. Although my Das might be getting neglected ;-)

I just ordered a tenkeyless Filco with Browns from amazon. I also just got a quote from obook for the Choc Mini: $112 shipped via Airmail. Do you guys think it's a good deal?

Good choice!! I did the same thing last week. Waiting for my Filco from Amazon. I ordered some black engraved PBT keys to go with it. I don't care much for Choc Mini but the price seems fair compare to the ones I saw on Ebay.

I ordered my Noppoo Choc Mini via OBook for about the same price.  Not sure how long it is going to take it get here but I can't wait.  Estimated time was 1-2 weeks via Airmail.

Probably the group buy "PBT 104 Kecaps" in the group buy forum. A little pricey, but apparently they're worth it.

Also just ordered the Noppoo Choco Mini using obook. Gonna compare the three keyboards and probably keep two maybe even all three if they are that much different from each other.

I was thinking about getting them from group guy. But then I saw that they have them over at taobao too. Since I need a set of red and a set of orange keycaps too, I'm ordering the whole thing from taobao.
