Model M identification

Can someone please give me more info about this keyboard? It's apparently a model M, but I don't know which model it is. Would it be a good buy, considering it doesn't have alt keys? (maybe they can be modded in somehow). If you would buy it, how much would you spend for it?

P.S. First post, hello fellow GeekHackers, this is a really nice webiste you have here ^^

Definitely, it's worth a good bit more than that.

There is an Alt key - it's under the left shift.

at 20 dollars. imo its an absolute steal. (though it does depend on the connector).  xt vs at. xt you will need a custom adapter to get it to work with a computer whereas an at connector is readily adaptable to ps2/usb

I'd think the big shiny "Personal Computer AT" logo is a big hint.

Oh wait, Ripster beat me to it.

Huh?  Model F ATs came with XT connectors?

Oddly enough, many Model Ms are compatible with XTs. It hasn't been fully determined which Model Ms and which XTs are applicable to this, but it's true of at least some of them (and not just the Model Ms without the LED blocks)
