Looking for help with Taobao
« on: Thu, 02 June 2011, 13:08:30 »
I'm trying to get a new keyboard on taobao and I'm pretty set on getting the Noppoo Choc Mini with brown switches. I am using taobaobee as the agent and after trying 3 sellers who all say they have it on their site but then are sold out when I try to purchase it, I decided to ask for help. The agents told me they asked a few sellers who all said they only had black left.

Has anyone recently purchased one of the Noppoo's with brown switches from taobao? If so, what seller did you use? I don't want to try every single seller that says they have brown in stock and piss off the people at taobaobee...but I will if it comes to that :boink:

 Thanks!

I used TaoBaoSpree.com about a month ago to order some colored blanks since I didn't want to wait on the Group Buys going on in the forum.  They have their own excel order sheet that you fill out on the website.  What you can do is email them that your interested in a certain product and provide them with different links of the same item and they will follow up on all of them to find it and then set up your order form for you to review.  They also use PayPal which was convenient for me.  I have another order going through them right now for some more colored blanks and 2 sets of 104 key white engraved.  They've been helpful to me so far and they charge 10% of your order which is pretty good among all the TaoBao agents.

This is a common problem on Taobao, actually. You either get your stuff immediately (like overnight), or they posted an item they didn't actually have in their possession, and you never get it. And then they refund your money to Alipay...which won't release funds to your bank, so you have to use it on something else on Taobao or some other website that accepts them.

Really obnoxious, actually. My advice is find out if they have it BEFORE you try to buy it. Otherwise it's just annoying.

And yes, I've been annoyed with Taobao lately.

I just ordered that same keyboard a couple of days ago using myobook.net and so far everything has been smooth.  They shipped out the board within a day or two of receiving the payment.  They accept PayPal.

Thanks for the responses!

Unfortunately I wasn't being smart and put money onto my taobaobee account before figuring out that none of the sellers actually had the keyboard even though many said they did. It seems like I can get a refund for onto my credit card, which I am currently trying to do. That ebay one is quite expensive, but temptation might get the best of me. I will look into the myobook and see how that plays out. Thanks!

No, the obook agent placed the order for me.  I just told them what I wanted and they took care of the rest.

obook has a pretty good reputation around here. Not having a need for an agent, I've never used them, so I can't say anything about them personally though. But it's a name I see here a lot (I really wish I could have a pet alot...) in conjunction with Taobao.

This is what I did.  search for "Noppoo Choc Mini 茶轴".  Or click this link http://s.taobao.com/search?q=Noppoo+Choc+Mini+%B2%E8%D6%E1

You should see many pages or results.  On the list, on the colume 2nd from right is the number of transsactions for each of the listings.  Go though the ones with more than a few transactions and click each of them.  on the listing page, the 3rd tab is transaction record. Click that tab and look for recent transactions with 茶轴, that is MX Brown.  If you can find a seller who sold a brown recently (in the last few days), than that seller may have browns in stock.

I looked at a few listings and most of them have just sold MX blacks recently.

rsantos97, since obook has found one recently for you, the link to the seller's listing should be on the excel spreadsheet that obook sent you.  Can you go to the spreadsheet and share the link here?

Normally I just ask the sellers via 'Wang Wang' IM before purchasing anything. But then again, you have to be able to read chinese and write (type) in Chinese to be able to do that.

Okay, then they must have their own supplier.  obook is the way to go for a Noppoo Choc Mini with browns then.

speaking of group buying on keyboards from taobao, here is a website dedicated on that  http://www.wantrr.com , looking like a beta version, might be interesting to run a testing group buy on taobao....

Hey dawnguo, how come the link you include says http://www.wantrr.com, but the actually link is http://wantrr.com/?ref=wrr-gkhk?

What is /?ref=wrr-gkhk?  Is that your referral link?  Do you get paid if we buy something because we use your referral link?

good catch, because they have a referral system for anyone who signed up during the pilot run, i do want to generate some clicks for myself, but the original intention was to have a group buy on taobao of course.  :)

How long did it take you to get your keyboard? I just ordered a KBT Race Pink on Monday and have so far gotten no feedback, no replies to e-mails and the order is marked with "Payment Accepted." My invoice number is #20, so I guess many people have tried this out yet.
