I have experience in shaving the third leg myself.

Start with a beard trimmer, finish/maintain with a Braun 5000 series.  I will not take a real blade there; besides that, it leads to crazy razor bumps.  Electric all the way.  That, and blade shaves hair to point instead of a flat cut.  This can lead to further irritation.

No.  Hot and sharp are two things I avoid if I can.

Ouch. I'll never take my nuts for granted.

I always find it fascinating when people grow a beard that's a different colour from the rest of their hair. One of my teachers' beard is ginger in the middle, but nowhere else. It's some scottish gene apparently.

My beard is a mix of brown like my head and auburn, which I must have got from my Uncle. I'm not Scottish.

Well my beard is black (if I decide to grow it), and my hair is ash/faint blonde. Extremely demented colours.

Random genes are sometimes fun and interesting.

I would, but I'm a metrosexual and a higher-ranking professional.  No room for facial hair here.

Well I don't know about you gents, but I stopped doing the shave thing a year ago this month.  I'd previously grown a beard during the winter and shaved it off the first day it got over 30C, but I persevered this year and kept it going.  I look back at pictures and can't get over how young I looked without my beloved beard.
I'll add pics if anyone wants them.  It's not epic proportions or anything, I've only started letting it get a bit longer over the last month and a half.  A randomly plucked chin whisker comes in at 3.2" today.  Not sure where I'm going with it, but I have been keeping it shaped nicely.  Last year, since I follow the "don't shave for 6 weeks, THEN shape the neck-line" policy, it got a little out of control and ended up looking unkempt.  Homeless may be a bit strong, "granola" may work, if that makes any sense.

My beard/stache is a lot darker than my hair... it's a very, very dark brown or black while my hair is dirty blonde/mid-brown. People have asked me a few times if I dye one or the other.

So do you often offer to show them the Southron regions to prove which is the Natural color ?

My beard/mustache tends to have alot of red in it.  Where I have dark brown hair on my head.

Thanks, ripster. ;-)
It is a bit odd that so many of us have red in our beards.

Could be.  I have a streak of lighter red starting at the left corner of my mouth that makes a widening wave (think boat-wake) as it goes down my chin and neck.  The rest is darker.  I'm 29 and I just noticed I have about 5 or 6 silver hairs in that streak... can't wait for that to spread around.  I've wanted gray hair since I was 15.

I don't sport a beard but I regularly forget or "forget" to shave. I don't really mind except I don't wear a tie if I have no time to shave, because of the contrast between the unkempt unshaved look and a dressy shirt and tie. Personal quirk.
