I'm a new user, looking for ergonomical gear to relieve my RSI.
I bought an Evoluent Vertical Mouse 4 [1] and a TypeMatrix EZ-Reach 2030 [2], however I realize I prefer my IBM keyboard, only because it got a TrackPoint between GHB keys.
I'm not fond of the pressure it needs to move, even at high sensitivity, however being able to keep your hands on the home row when keybindings fails is a gift.
I was using my TM 2030 on top of my IBM keyboard when I realized that by gently pushing the entire keyboard I could move the TrackPoint under it, keeping my hands in neutral positon and putting way less stress on my forefinger since the force was shared between my 10 fingers.
So, I was wondering, instead of modding my keyboard to add one or two trackpoints between some home row keys, I could find a way to stick one under it, that would be operated by friction. The dotted flat cap would be perfect for this :
It could take place in a dedicated tray, as I intend to build one with a custom palmrest.
What do you think about this idea?
Have you ever seen anything similar?
