You guys: borderline off-topic

Me: very much on-topic, AND making the world a prettier place.

This is a small as I'm willing to make it (in sig). I'm campaigning pretty hard these days. Thoughts?

I've done all I can do, it'll take smarter, more powerful, more creative, more motivated, and more talented, to incorporate her somewhere worthy. She deserves far better than my sig, and I don't have the guts to crop or shrink anymore. Hopefully someone can do something with your excellent find, audioave10.

Ripster, I like your sig. It's the best. But most people want a GeekGirl somewhere...so I'm having some fun (The title of this thread!) :)

After all, GeekGirl HAS achieved keyboard status on this forum. She's like a mascot.

I'm never aggressive (passive or otherwise) nor have I ever been on any hate bandwagon. Please don't group me with others. I was simply here for fun.

I'm still pissed at Lanx though.

Calling me a racist.

There's a pretty good definition of "racist" at Urban Dictionary:

"1. racist
If you're a white man, this is what you are. It doesn't even matter if your wife is black and you have an adopted child from India, or how many black friends you have, somehow you're going to end up being a racist according to how the media portrays the white man as "racist whities".

All of this is funny because the white man is the one that is stereotyped as being racist, which is hypocrisy at its best. It's racist to assume that white men are racists. "

"2. racist
A term usually used by minorities to get out of any situation."

The funny thing is, I've heard more racist slurs coming from non-whites than I've ever heard from white people.
(...but I'm in Canada, of course, not the deep south USA)

huh?

Quote from: ripster;377553
Actually my son speaks and writes Japanese but is learning Mandarin this summer.

BTW, is Voixdelion my mom?  Now MY MOM likes to ask the Chinese waiters if they are hispanic and has appallingly low multicultural sensitivity.  I sure hope my mom isn't on this forum and sees the Retrobrite post.  She wouldn't appreciate the Billy Mays or porn bleaching jokes and probably report my post.

Wait, what?  What did I miss?

Or rather, if it isn't multi-culturally insensitive to ask it this way: What in the world does THAT have to do with the price of tea in China?

Now I'm really confused.  What exactly are we talking about here?

If its still Ripster's avatar:  You are welcome to use a pic of a real live Geekgirl and Photoshop an appropriate board under the hands: I think I have an 8x10 HQ copy of the original pic - the background is the actual bar though.

I used to dance in the Catholic Schoolgirl Plaid if you like the traditional, but I like to be more creative and found a new use for my Renaissance Faire Garb as a theme set to some Sarah Mclaughlan music - how's that for geeky?  (Bloody difficult to get out of that bodice in such constrained time limits though and took nearly 20 minutes to get INTO it!)

Best part was at the end of the night I'd go home in my sweats and glasses and no one had any idea it was me.  Very Diana Prince/WW kind of thing (Diana -now there's a great GG!  Lynda Carter style!).  One of the other girls I worked with for a couple years used to see me come in to work the nights on her mid shift - she thought that I worked somewhere in the back office until she actually saw me change one evening when she worked a double shift.  Too bad I don't have any pics with my other GG stripper pal - She was the first member of MENSA I ever met (or at least that I was aware of being a member).

MY OPINION...I like babes & boobs...( with all due respect to Voixdelion)

:) no worries.  I think boobs are most excellent when  properly used.  I like them so much I bought myself a pair! Nice mid-range  set, nothing ostentatious... just wanted to be able to wear Victoria's  Secret catalog stuff.

You had me at Catholic Schoolgirl.  I'm don't pay that much attention to Sarah Mclachlan except that she makes my kids cry with those SPCA "Arms of an angel" pet abuse commercials.  It's hard on me to, I have a rescue dog and hate to think how he would have ended up had we not adopted him.  Actually now that I think about it the dog we actually went to get apparently suffered that fate.  They told us that dog had not socialized well with folks who came to visit so we got to visit with another dog instead which of course we brought home.  That's playing a little dirty to imply the dog is off to the kill shelter if you don't take it but effective.

I hadn't thought of Diana Prince/WW, that would be an excellent replacement GG.  Don't know much about MENSA, I've met some members but never made much of an impression on me I guess.  I grew up in a small town where the head of MUFON lived, does that count?  Hah, became kinda cool for a while there when the X-Files shined their xenon gas flashlights on it by mentioning it on the show.

Doesn't even come close to qualifying as racism.

The lower lip looks odd to me, maybe lighting, maybe it was photoshopped to make her lips fuller.  Someone is off but I don't think I'd have noticed it.

Looks like green laser surgery.

I tried to directly copy/paste it in but it crashed the new Vbulletin image loader.   I think it doesn't like importing images from within the site.  Too bad because I'd have to go through a whole routine to copy/paste Geekhack other member images to get thumbnails.

Is it "moron" because I'm not a card-carrying member of the High-IQ-Meatloaf Society?

Go Google a better word.

Oh yea, take your racist accusations and put them where they belong. At the ACLU or whateva, not our keyboard forum.

While you're googling, and after you consult with the other meatloafs for support, go ahead and PM me your best shot so we can both help keep the crap out of the forum. This place is not your personal toilet.

P.S. (that stands for "Post Script") Have a sense of humor. This is a skin thread in the "off topic" subforum. Take your meatloaf hate elsewhere. Post skin here or go attend another free meatloaf event.

I can't wait till they give you another break from "work" so I can be entertained by yet another 'mensa-ism'.

No. No dye, either.

I no longer blame the IRC guys for a Ripster channel.   After all I am obviously the only person left here that both entertains and truly knows his keyboard stuff.

I've noticed the peeps that complain about you all seem to complain almost in exactly the same fashion and also seem to have at least one thing in common (insecure!!!). But overall, they all seem to want to be more like you, but vastly superior of course. You intimidate them.

You're a very bad man.

I should report you for that too.

You are a racist.  Posting a "nigga stole my bike" video isn't exactly PC.

I'm not sure you're in a position to be calling people racist. Just saying.

HEY, I just realized the new image uploader won't let me use previously loaded pics in the Forums.  Only the Wikis.

That truly sucks.
If I go into Advanced view manage attachments, I see my most recent images and a handful of older ones but a lot aren't shown in that view.  Now if I go to my account settings and look at attachments there I can see them all.  I can manually copy the URL from there and then paste it into a forum messages between like below (have to do it manually since the new tool says it's an invalid URL).  Not perfect but it works.  using the attachment ID between  doesn't seem to work for whatever reason.

Was watching Daniel Tosh, apparently there's a reason that you don't see many successful white rappers, some evidence below:

BTW, is anyone else having trouble viewing videos linked using the new [ video ] [ /video ] rather than the old [ youtube ] [ /youtube ] tags?  I can still view the latter no problem but the former doesn't work right, at least not on this old Ubuntu laptop with Firefox 3.6.13.

Seems OK.
Not for me, I get sound but no video and firefox crashes some of the time.  Time to upgrade some stuff I guess.
