Want Realforce 86U. Have a bolt mod SSK to trade!
« on: Sun, 10 July 2011, 07:51:38 »
I have a nice clean bolt modded Model M SSK, aka Model M mini, with new (in 2010) replacement springs. I have used it for a few weeks since bolt modding it. Trading because I decided that buckling spring is not for me anymore.

Bolt modded SSKs are better than NIB! There are no rivets to break-- the springs are new, crisp and wonderful-- and you could service anything inside at anytime in the future with a few simple tools.

Seeking a Realforce 86U with variable weight keys, in clean not-heavily-used condition. Would prefer white but charcoal would be OK too.

Thanks!

RSI prevention recipe:[/B] Kinesis Contoured, Colemak layout, touch typing, Contour Design Rollermouse,  Logitech TrackMan Wheel, Logitech m570 trackball, "workrave" break timer software, "awesome" window manager, tenkeyless boards, cherry browns, Wang 724 with "ghetto green" ALPS, standing desk and/or comfy adjustable chairs, stress reduction, computer time reduction.

Fun non-ergonomic things: bolt modded Model M Space Saving Keyboards with new springs, Kensington Expert Mouse v7, Unicomp Endurapro, Northgates

This is a longer list of things I'd trade for a Realforce 86U or 86UB:

- CST model 1550 optomechanical trackball. Modded to move the cord to the right-hand side of the unit. This mod could be easily reversed. This would be a good way to find out if you like the shape of CSTs. Was about $70 new.

- Full size bolt modded IBM Model M in very good condition.

- Northgate Omnikey 101 in nice clean complete condition, no signs of heavy use, in original box with original packing materials, warranty card and manual. Sadly it doesn't work! :(

- Cash

- IBM Model M SSK, bolt modded, new springs, better than NIB for actual daily use. No bad rivets guaranteed.

Make an offer!
