Here is the latest:

This is an update of our manufacturing phase.

Manufacturing phase
We finalized the required tooling and have received initial samples. We are currently fixing a couple of issues and will receive newer samples in a few days to verify all parts are according to our design specifications. We will manufacture your Truly Ergonomic Keyboard as soon as these issues are resolved.

Blog
We have created new posts in our Blog since our previous newsletter.

One in regard to the required tooling, where you can review an image of diverse initial samples.
http://www.trulyergonomic.com/blog.html#Tooling

Another in regard to the technical side of the Truly Ergonomic Keyboard; more useful for those who want to find out more about the technical and electronic side of the Truly Ergonomic Keyboard.
http://www.trulyergonomic.com/blog.html#DIP

We are a young Canadian company with more than sufficient capital to manufacture all currently pre-ordered TrulyErgonomic Keyboards, but it is imperative to us that we deliver quality above all else, particularly in our first production runs.

We thank you very much for your patience and support during our pre-order manufacturing phase.

Regards,

The Truly Ergonomic team

Are you even talking about the Truly ergonomic keyboard? It has no numpad...

It has an embedded numpad (check out that led on the numlock key):

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 22444

And I see cherry reds and blacks !?!!?

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 22445

By the way, the best model seems the "109" key one. It offers 88 physical keys without impacting the space bar like other international keyboards do. Must be better than the "104" or "105" models (only 84 physical keys) if you want to setup widows keys, menu keys, etc.

Hope they come through, did they send any updates recently? Also, for folks that preordered, have they provided a mailing address and phone number, or are they still in virtual-company mode?

They've done nothing for me so far but take my money and send emails with ever falling back shipping dates, no address or contact info outside email on their site.  I did see somewhere that someone did some research on that at one point but don't have a url handy ...

Hopefully that's the case, but with their track record I'll believe they are shipping when I see an unboxing online (or better yet, when I have mine in my hands).  They always seem to think they are going to ship in 2-3 months time going by their past record -- pretty much every time they've updated their estimated shipping date it's been that sort of time frame anyway, and this new "estimate" lines up with that.  They are literally just about to start the manufacturing process ... who knows what other unforeseen hurdles will hit -- they have certainly seemed to have a lot of them in the process so far.

Looks like I received an email tonight that was a regurgitation of the blog entry. That's a good sign. :)

From the excessive use of white space, I can tell the enter key in the middle has a very profound effect on typing in general. I can't wait to see my KLOC's increase by ten fold. :llama:

The 109 key is really an 88 key. I counted the keys the other day :-)
The standard version has too few keys (84). It's pretty outrageous that they call their models 104, 105, 109 keys when they have 84 or 88 keys only. Nowhere in their website do they mention the actual number of keys.

Anyway, good choice on the 88 keys, hope it arrives by Christmas!

Being a follower of the word of Christ, seems like good timing.

All pessimism aside. These are all good signs they are close to an end. If I were TE I would be fearing the influx when this device hits reality. I can only assume their attention to perfection is appreciated by many and even with delays would save man days of issues.

As a programmer, I say get it right the first time. In my professional life I spend tiring hours telling tiring consumers that changes "will be ready when they are ready".

I can assume here is no different.

tenkeyless do cost more than standard 104, if they think they can charge more for less keys, they're only following the industry standard.

Doesn't really count. I mean, would you call a tenkeyless with a numpad layer, like an IBM SSK or a Realforce U87 a full 105 key keyboard? Or should I call my Kinesis that has 2 programmable layers a 86*2 = 172 key keyboard?

Anyway, I would be OK if TE said "Model 109 (88 physical keys)" or something. I shouldn't have to count the keys from a picture, they should mention the number of physical keys somewhere in their web page, but they don't. The number of physical keys is very important; I wish my Kinesis had 88 instead of 86 keys, so I know that I would never get the TE model 104/105 which only has 84 keys, but I would consider the model 109 with 88 keys.
