Mod ideas?
« on: Wed, 20 July 2011, 10:24:26 »
Want to do more to my mx11800. I have removed the numberpad/trackball all but the first row so I didnt have to soldier anything. Next want to kinda skeleton mod it to expose the board and switches more. Probably remove the top of the case but a few of the connecting ends the screws use and cut down the bottom case on the edges.

There anything I can do to the current switchs? maybe cut springes, I would like to replace the stems with blues or black to try also.

Any other ideas, or just general cherry mods?

Dang, 70 buck for 101 switches. Might as well buy a new board with those switches... if only you could order just the stems...

I got this keyboard off ebay for about $28 shipped, salvaged the clear stems and modded my noppoo into ergo clears.

Given you are in the us your best bet is an used cherry pos board meant as donor board.

In europe a brand new cherry clear board is sold for 40 euro, which is not that bad.
