BLANKSPH//BLACK doesn't seem to be available, even thought the wiki suggests that it is. :(

For the blanks you can only order colors that are being used as part of the sets. So for spherical you can probably only grey and maybe blue since there is some blue on the F5-F8 keys and the arrow keys.
Layout: Colemak
Fastest typing speed: 131 WPM on typeracer, 136 WPM on 10fastfingers.
Daily driver: Filco Tenkeyless MX Brown with ergonomically weighted, lubed springs.
Ergo keyboards: Truly Ergonomic, Kinesis Advantage, Ergodox

Some of the vim keys seem to have gotten cut but it's impossible to tell from the wiki and the order list posted earlier what is actually available. Where is the definitive list of what can actually be ordered?

Yes, a bunch of things just got cut.  According to the thread on deskthority, he is paring things down and getting new prices from SP.  Hopefully we'll get an update on Monday.

Yeah, I understand all that. Part of the point I was trying to make was that this was supposed to end yesterday. And before that it was supposed to end on December 31, 2011. And before that...

Yes, that goes without saying.  I think that Rag's GB got 7bit thinking about prices, but for some reason he chose the same end date for his Cherry switch GB.  Hopefully it will be a short delay and double-hopefully the prices will improve some.

The concern is that he will then let it sit for a while again to let everyone make decisions on the new prices, if there are any. Rinse and repeat...

We can only hope not.  :)  Worst case, GB4 continues to degenerate into smaller, more focused GBs.  That will probably be good (price-wise) for those of us with ANSI keyboards, but not so good for others hoping for their native language sets.  Those could always be done as add-ons, but I'm being that they would be expensive.  7bit is in Deutschland, after all. ;)

The definitive list is probably the input to the Perl script.  Too bad the bot can't refresh the Wiki, too (though I have a feeling that is where the price list comes from).

One thing that I just recently noticed is that there are sets that *replace* mod keys with RGBY, so if you want both the RGBY mods and the standard mods you'd better be very sure to order the *full* non-rgby set, and then add on the mods-only RGBY set.

e.g.: RETRO/TKLRGBYSYM does *not* include standard mod keys, or even RGBY text keys, in *replaces* the mod keys with RGBYSYM

I would have been quite annoyed to find keys missing, so I'm glad I figured this out now.  Did anyone else not catch this 6mos ago?  ;-P

Wow, this thread has 188K views.  More than the Geekhack Mechanical Keyboard Guide Wiki.

And in for post #3747!
It's 'cause I revisit this topic at least twice a day, and I only need to read the wiki's every once-in-a-while.

Hmm, February 45'th? Of what year?

New strategy:
I will organise 4 separate group buys with just TKL and STANDARD kits
and the rest in a supplement group buy.

I will get prices like in the separate Blood (red on black) group buy for TKL and STANDARD and offer add-on stuff with these super high prices.

Buy switches here: CherryMX

Wouldn't it be cheaper to split by style (i.e. SPH group buy, RETRO group buy, etc.) so that all the keys with the same moulds and colours get produced together?

P.S. If the spherical set doesn't happen for whatever reason I will be happy to do a separate group buy for it.

Ragnarock: 100x87 TKL in red on black please.
Melissa: $45/TKL

7bit: 75,000 key caps in 8 different colors and 2 different key families, tons of SVG graphics and what not.
Melissa: Complicated pricing with extra large buffer to compensate potential errors.

Solution:
Code: [Select]

foreach($COLORSCHEME in $COLORSCHEMES) do
  7bit: 100x92 TKL, 100x132 STD in $COLORSCHEME please.
  Melissa: $45/TKL, $65/STD
done
7bit: Add-on crap.
Melissa: $$$

Result: I can sell more of the kits the majority want and can easier compensate the high prices for add-on stuff, becuase of higher volume.
Buy key caps here: Round 5
Buy switches here: CherryMX

ok, 7bit, can you please work with tsangan, hashbaz, and ragnarock to schedule the next few GBs then? cream cheese will be starting soon, and GBs are very likely to cannibalize business from each other (plus then we have to decide which to spend our keyboard budget on!)

i vote for cream cheese then dolch colors, then retro, personally.

Sounds OK to me… I don't subsidize your funny keys, and you don't subsidize mine.

(I would, however, like to be sure that I can get my funny keys before I order a bunch of TKLs and STANDARDs.)

that's another thing. there are probably orders that date back to a year ago, whose original submitters no longer are following the thread, care, or will pay when it comes time to actually order. at this point the GBs probably _have_ to be split up and re-done.
