What's the status of this GB?

Is it in danger of falling through because no one will collect the money?

According to the OP, they have been ordered from the manufacturer. How is that going to work out?

It can't be true that no American is there (except the 2 who heroicly risked their PayPal accounts) who helps collecting the money!

In the worst cae scenario, some Europeans and East-Asains must do it, risking a loss through currency exchange rates turning to the wrong direction.

Beause I can't find anybody, I now take help from non-US PayPal-account owners.

I'm not sure how much a money order, wire-transfer. or cheque, or whatever will cost but it seems there is no other way.

PayPal payments to SP would only be possible in small chunks because we can't keep too much on a PayPal account as this is highly risky. On the other hand SP does not want mini-payments, so we can rule that out. You can also collect money localy on a per country or per currency base, like I do in Europe.

Please tell me if anybody is interested. I don't want this delayed any longer.

One wants to do it but only when I've found as many as we need to collect the rest. There is a $20,000 limit.

It should not take very long.

It's not that simple, DA. Would you really volunteer knowing that you would owe an additional $19,600.00 on your income tax next year that there is no 'loophole' to get you out of? That is the issue here, if one person collects the money, and you are in the 28% tax bracket.

In order to avoid paying ^^^ that amount, just to "help out" requires a minimum of 4 people collecting, so that PayPal does not file a 1099-K to the IRS for you when you exceed their $20,000.00 threshold. This Group Buy exceeds that by SEVERAL TIMES. So, we need several volunteers who can collect close to but not exceeding $20K, including all Gross transactions for the year on your account. Verstehst du?

I'm not sure how many are prepared to collect. It seems like there are currently three and one more is needed. I think two more would make it safer. That or have sending Postal Money Orders or Cashiers Checks an option. These Group Buys take a long time anyway, so there is no benefit to "Instant Online Payment".

One has a full boat, one sunk in the middle of the harbor, but most could be rescued and the captain of the 3rd boat ships only if there is a 4th to take the rest of the load.

If I where SP I'd open up a sub-account of my bank account and let everybody who participates in the group buy pay into it. It would be the easiest way to do it. Not much accounting to be done. Just look at the balance.

Could we suggest this to SP? For a ~$70K order they should be willing to make some small accommodation like that. Something like that would solve the whole problem for everyone.

The idea is not that bad but I think then there would be the problem that 7bit would not know who paid their order.
We'd just see if everything has been paid or if there's still some money missing, but not whose money is the missing one.
Could also be potentially be abused by someone who wants his keycaps paid by someone else...

also @ 7bit:

I still got ~ 20€ left to pay on my invoice. Mainly because of the DUMMY kits I've ordered.
Should I pay them now or should/can I wait until everything is finalized?

yeah I got an email. Just wondering, are round 3's left overs from round 3? Being in stock meaning that they're ready to ship asap? I noticed on the other page here that round 3 WASD orange are available, that would be cheaper for me to get than orange gamer kit surely?

"In stock" just means "not yet claimed". No keys have been produced yet, and R3 is long sold-out.

Round 3 is without WINDOWS mofdifiers.

The 1.25 units modifiers are 2x ALT, 2x CONTROL, 2x SUPER and 1x META.

To get WINDOWS keys you need to order this:
ROUND3/WINDOWS

It contains:
2x Windows flag and 1x menu symbol in 1, 1.25 and 1.5 units.

yep. Most of modern keyboards have 1.25 modifiers.
