This thing needs to sell for a ridiculous amount of money :

The keyboard looks quite yellowed and the opened box had been put on a dirty floor!

Also, the keyboard is not in a plastic bag, so the NIB status is lost!

Yeah right ..
Like you can tell from the crappy (as usual on german Ebay) pictures .
Are you the number one early bidder or the number two early bidder ?
Raise your bid to 200 Eurotrash or just forget about it mate :)

No, really, it's yellowed and probably doesn't even work. Don't bother bidding on it ;)

From the very day it was listed I've just been wondering when it finds its way here. And I'm really amused about the... questionable comments of all you guys who just want to get it cheap. I bet you won't.

Crappy picture, I do agree. But look at it exactly and you will see there is not, as it would seem at first sight, just a zone around the function keys which has not suffered yellowing. In fact there is no yellowing, but a crappy dark photo, and that lighter zone is just the original, light grey flip cardboard thing placed around the function keys, as can be seen here (not a photo of the keyboard on offer, but it shows exactly what I mean):

And one can see the coiled cable still has its plastic sleeve.

This is not a photo of the offered keyboard, and plastic bags are cheap!

Here is a photo of a really new G80-2100:

See the difference?

This auction is a fake!

I've purchased a 'NIB' keyboard once and it was bloody yellowed!

WARNING: Don't bid on it unless you want to burn money.

Spend your funds on Round 4 stuff!

ps: Also, it as got super stiff keys. You will suffer from RSI very soon if you get it.

I'm glad to see you are not interested at all

The seller has all my sympathy because his pictures are even worse than mine:

Well I figure, if a used non-yellowed one with Cherrry key is worth about 100eur, a NIB one has got to be worth at least twice as much.

...or am I wrong?

I've paid for mine around 65 EUR and it came barely used.

So you paid around 120 EUR for the box.

I once paid 5 Euro for a fully functional tiptel 195 phone which at that time did not sell for under 100 Euro on eBay.
That does not mean that all others buyers paid too much, but that I did a real bargain (and had a lot of luck).

Here I would say you paid quite a low price for a barely used G80-2100 (French version if I remember right) and Half-Saint paid a fair price for a completely unused NIB German one. German keyboards for sure are more sought after than French ones.

I would have expected this one to sell for more than 200 Euro. And I'm sure it would have if the seller had shown decent pictures and explicitely offered international shipping.

By the way, how much would you be ready to pay for the original box of a French G80-2100? :biggrin1:

No, the others paid too much and you paid the right price!

The French version is more seldom, so it is more valuable and because I've got some G802550 NIB I already know how these boxes look like and don't need one for the G80-2100, except you own the original box for my G80-2100HDF.

Nevertheless, if they would produce this G80-2100 today, it would be more expensive and had only lasered key caps, so the price is OK.

It's not the original box for your G80-2100HDF, its the original box for my (used) G80-2100HDF. Anyway, I wouldn't for sure offer the original box of my NIB G80-2100HDF :biggrin1:

That's even worse. They produce the G81-8308, which has lasered keys and MY switches :puke:

You win - what 'D' stands for? 'H' I remember was doubleshots, 'U' for US layout. The 'F' I don't have the foggiest.

It's just a scribbled note on a piece of paper on my desk - things I might find interesting. So 2100HFU is written there.

Mhm. Is 'F' / 'D' switch type?

For the first letter, as you wrote, H means doubleshots.
The signification of the middle letter is quite unresolved.
And the last letter indicates the country: U for US, D for Germany, F for France.

If you recall, I recently paid 60EUR for a G80-2100HDD that looks almost unused. It feels nice to type on, there is no yellowing, all the keycaps are present and the cable is not stretched. The problem with on-line auctions is that you can never be 100% sure what you're getting.

In my book, knowing that something is NIB is worth more than just the box because I sure didn't buy it just for the box. You can get used OVP items for less. Of course I would love to get a NIB G80-2100 for 60EUR ;)

'F' should be MX blue. 'D' - a mystery.
So, which MX is your HDU?

And could somebody with HFx chime in?

My G80-2100HDU has MX blacks.

I've never heard of a G80-2100 labeled HFx or having blue switches (except of course if modded). The only ones I know (and I've seen a lot of them) are HAx or HDx and all have MX blacks.
