Need Advise on Topre Keyboard
« on: Fri, 05 August 2011, 20:46:19 »
Hello,

I'm close to buy a Topre keyboard, but I can't decide which one I should get.

I am looking for a USA or German layout keyboard, which should have a uniform weight.

I found one on Keyboardco, but it's Tenkeyless and I'm really unsure about it since It would be my first time buying a TKL tbh.

Got some Advise?

Best Regards

I don't miss my numpad at all, but that is is relative to the fact that I never frequently used the numpad before in the first place..

Just think of the type of work you are going to be doing and does it necessitate the use of the numpad frequently. They do sell a uniform weight full size realforce, but not sure how easy it would be to locate one nowadays.

It looked like Elitekeyboards use to carry the uniform 55g version for the fullsize but has since been sold out...

If you do a lot of numeric entry you need a numpad, but there are many options to use with a tenkeyless as well.
But most people are just fine using the number row and going tenkeyless.  The comfort of using a shorter board is addicting.

I keep this one handy for times I'm entering a lot of numbers but primarily use the number row on a tenkeyless.  Since it has an inverted T it would go very well with a Poker or HHKB.  Has fake Blue cherries that are white but feel just as good as cherry blues.

Alright, thanks for clearing me up.
I hope when I buy the TKL, I won't regret it later

Get the 87U.

It's now the most expensive shipping keyboard in the world (Ebay no longer has the TypeNow) so it must be the best.

That sounded quite sacrastic and you've made me unsure again :(

I use this keypad when I have to do a bunch of dedicated number crunching and I dig it. However, mine actually came with real blue cherries, looks like they swaped suppliers as companies many times do. They both feel good though.
