LED Help
« on: Mon, 08 August 2011, 23:28:35 »
Hey! I have the I-Rocks KR-6820E-BK, but I wanted to change the orange LED's out for some blue ones. However, I've never done anything like this before; so, I have a few questions about the LED's.

There are 8 that actually backlight the keys. They seem about 4mm long and they are square and flat:

These next ones are the three for num lock, caps lock and scroll lock. They seem to be about 3 mm long and are round and shaped kind of like regular light bulbs:

So, I was just wondering if anyone could help me out in finding the right LED's to buy to replace these ones. My mouse is the Razer Deathadder; so, if the blue color is similar to the lights on that, that would be rad.

Thanks!

Exact measurements help... 3mm round LEDs are pretty standard, the rectangular ones are probably this size
Filco w/ Imsto thick PBT
Ducky 1087XM PCB+Plate, w/ Matias "Quiet Click" spring-swapped w/ XM Greens

Man, I don't even know why I didn't think to check eBay. Now I just feel silly.

Thanks a ton. I just bought the 10 3mm for 99 cents. If those fit in the spots where the square ones are right now, would it be fine just to put them in there?

EDIT:

One more question: this one about a soldering iron. Would a real cheap one be perfectly fine?

Perfectly fine if you think this is your only mod, to have something reliable in the future you shoult think to something whit a good coating on the tip and/or replaceable tips.

A butane powered portasol could be a good idea
