So, this is like the 5th time I've tried to dye an IBM Model M keys Blue.
Results - Fail
The blue didn't stick at all. I have no idea why. I even tried different shades (Royal Blue, Navy Blue, and even mixed in Black once).
The funny thing is this is the 2nd set of Model M keys I've dyed. The first one was dyed red. Actually, I tried to dye some keys red and some keys blue. The red stuck right away, but the blue didn't. At that time, I just thought I did something wrong with the blue, so I just dyed all the keys red.
I've tried it several times (as I said above) since then on another Model M, but with Blue. It hasn't stuck once.
I've seen several threads with some people showing Model Ms with Blue Keys so I'm sure it's possible?
Am I missing something?
What I'm using: Rit Dye
Method: Taking a pot of water, throwing in some salt, and getting it to boiling; then I throw in the dye, wait for it to simmer again, and then throw in the keys for about 10-15 while the pot is simmering (I've even tried leaving it overnight and turning off the heat after 15 minutes).
Someone please help!
