I looked at it before I saw it here, but there's just something about the mini that I don't like. For $75, maybe, but not $150.

For others that like it more than I do, though, that's a damn good price.

Yeah, it was a good price, but not amazing. For a buy it now it was worth it. It's nice for people that don't wanna try and snipe.

I never understood this thing with the "Space Savers". Why pay hundreds more to not have a number pad? Is the number pad REALLY that big of a deal? It's not like the keyboard will feel $100 worth of better when you use it.

You might find this surprising, but some people here think keyboard layout and packaging is pretty important. They're even pretty passionate about the subjective and objective benefits of one layout over another. Fortunately you'll find these folks pretty accomodating to the wingnuts who spend lots of extra money on different key mechanisms because of the way they "feel." Oh, and welcome to Geekhack.

That's because you're upfront about the broken rivets, where this isn't really considered by ebay sellers or buyers, even though those might have as many rivets popped.

I'm not even a big fan of buckling springs, but I would pick up one of your SSKs if there were someone nearby who had the bolt mod tools handy.

Also, the spacesaver doesn't just get rid of the tenkey, but also saves some space on the overall perimeter of the keyboard.

For people using a mouse and using that mouse with their right-hand, I can understand why it can be good not have a numpad.

I can also see why for people in small/crowded place it can be good to have a keyboard using less space, especially seen how big regular Model Ms are.

Then I've got a very big office, a very big desk and I'm using my mouse with my left-hand and I do use the numpad in a while so I don't plan on using a space-saver.  But still I wouldn't mind acquiring one just for my collection : )

MW is right. A tenkeyless can be marginally more ergonomic than a full size keyboard, not greatly so.

For ergonomic mousing, check out the Contour Rollermouse, which sits in front of your keyboard. They rock, see my sig. For the price of a NIB SSK you can buy this instead and have actual ergonomics.

At work i'm now using my SSK from Singapore, in lieu of a HH Pro. Its great having the slim blade that much closer to the board where as the Matias Tactile Pro its past the monitor edge (TP and SB my home setup)
