Just wondering what you guys thought of this: liky linkletons
I know a lot of you have BlackWidows, so I figured I'd drop it here. Apologies if there is already a thread on this.

Personally I don't think it looks too bad. It is pretty over-the-top, though.
I probably wouldn't buy it, although if the edges aren't as glossy as the regular BW, it might be nice.
Current collection:
Filco Majestouch 104-Key, w/ MX Browns
IBM Model M 52G9700
Leopold FC200R, "white" w/ MX Clears
Ducky DK9008S \'Shining\', white backlit w/ MX Blues
Cherry G80-3494(LCYUS-2), w/ MX Reds for Portal Mod

Not mine, but I\'ve got access to:
Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition, w/ MX Reds
Filco Majestouch 2 \'Ninja\' Tenkeyless, w/ MX Blues
Leopold FC500R, w/ MX Browns

Orange back lighting. As Ripster has been saying Razor can mass produce, market, and possibly put other businesses like Deck out of business. My experience with Razor is that there quality is crappy. So this keyboard should be the same. But, for those who like Razor products ... here is another to taste.

The problem with Razer is the overall QA / production quality. They have a few products that are really really good, for example Razer Deathadder is one of the best mice ever made and Razer Blackwidow is a very decent keyboard for the price, but your entire experience hangs on whether you get an item from a "good batch" or a bad one.

So I hear. I've never had any problems with them, but I've only had the one DeathAdder myself which, like you say, is fantastic.
Thats been running fine for about a year now, with pretty heavy punishment being lugged around in my laptop case with calculators, tape measures and pocket knives, etc. - I honestly expected it to be dead by now.
My brother has a Naga, which he also really likes, although I'd never buy one. They're a bit small for my humungous hands, and I'd never use all the other buttons. That's withstood similar punishment for about a year also.

Its strange, I hear a lot of hate on the internet about their QA, mostly aimed at the Mamba I've noticed, but I know a lot of people that use their headphones and keyboards (I know quite a few gamers who swear by their Lycosas, though I could never use one of those after owning this Filco) and have nothing but good to say about them. The only product I'd buy from Razer, save another DeathAdder if this one dies, would probably be a BlackWidow, primarily becuase of the reputation that they have, and the fact that they use MX Blues, which I'll probably end up getting regardless of what my next board is. Having said that, though, the smudgy finish is the reason I went Filco over Das, and will probably keep me from ever owning a BW, too.

My experience with Razer is that their Mice are just fantastic - Some of the best I've ever used, but their keyboards are (usually)overpriced and meh. I also highly dislike their backlighting fetish when it comes to their keyboards.
Keyboards: Leopold Tenkeyless, Steelseries 6Gv2, Wants an IBM Model M
Mice: Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, Razer Deathadder

Aside from the DeathAdder and Imperator I already have, I'm never buying another Razer product again until they can hire some decent software engineers. I've bricked more mice than I care to think about trying to upgrade firmware.

I'll stick with my IE3.0/Logi G400, thank you very much.

I bought 2 mice from razer and they work fine, like their software does.
Razer brings input device, that have a great concept. Like the Naga for MMOs. Nostromo, Anansi could be counted to those things, too.
Then they do things that make no sense. Like the 10 speaker headphone.
This "Special" ("Edition") is a guarantee for higher prices. No thank you. "Gaming" is a guarantee for higher prices. No thanks. The Blackwidow is overpriced, too, and I prefer cherry G80, PLU-ML87 et cetera.

Eh, just another blackwidow. Razer would be smart to make blackwidows have 6kro on their boards. Their loss for sure.

Had a mamba (their 130$ mouse) and it's a gigantic POS. Never again.

Some of the stuff they sell really makes me wonder how stupid people can get. Like the Razer Bungee, for example. Link related. Anyone who thinks that their mouse cord dragging is somehow affecting their gaming ability is... Yeah. Not very smart, I don't think.

Its things like this that make me not like Razer as a company, which is a shame because, as we've discussed, they do make quite a few good products.

Orange LED's do look cool. But that's about it. It's just another marketing gimmick.

to be fair that's just Razer's typical overzealous marketing, its not like they invented the concept of a mouse bungee, such a thing has been around for years and years before Razer finally offered their own

a fool and his money...

at least we can hope that Razer will put that money back into the design of a more useful product :P

It's not needed.

For the record, there is also a Blackwidow with red LED's. a Dragon Age edition.
