IBM 1983 PCjr keyboard?
« on: Sun, 21 August 2011, 15:18:02 »
I just found thirty keyboards in my father's basement and one of them is a brand new (completely unused) PCjr chicklet keyboard...

Does it carry some value?

So Ebay is the only way of selling a thing like that?
I also found a Dell QuietKey, lots of terminal very very old keyboard that have those color printed characters on them
Also about 6 model M, one laserkey clicky keyboard, keytronic, etc
I might post a bunch of picture soon

Would be really nice to have some photos of the keyboard internals.

We discussed about it some time ago and I was unable to find any photo of the opened keyboard.

Sure. There are only five screws to remove so should be quite easy

I've heard this keyboard was a total piece of crap and one of the main reasons the PCjr failed. (the other major reason being incompatibility with the PC)

Those things were horrible to type on.  Unfortunately when the PCjr came out, one of my clients thought he was being smart and bought one, thinking an IBM was an IBM.  After typing a short time on it, I gave up.  I ended up buying a NIB PCjr keyboard a while ago, just so I have one, even though I know I'll never actually use it.  I paid under $10 for it, and have seen others priced for similar amounts which went unsold.  So basically, it's pretty much worthless and very difficult to sell.
