« on: Thu, 25 August 2011, 08:09:15 »
Hello guys !

I just did my order, I take a Noppoo Choc Mini Mx red ... :)
I hope it's a good keyboard ...

But someone, on another forum, tell me that the KBC Poker Mx red is a better keyboard...
The spacebar key is really so bad on the noppoo ?

Which one is the best for you ? Noppoo Choc mini mx red or poker Mx red ?
Just want to know what you thinking about these keyboards ... :)

Thanks guys !

I think I also can read noodles mind by saying that we don't really understand your question. Or is it a question or just a statement?

Please reread and structure your post to get some answers (if you want any).

That's a bit harsh guys, it's obvious what he is trying to convey is what is better the poker or the choc. As he said, he ordered the choc but heard on another forum that the poker was better and wanted to know your guys opinion.

OP: sorry I haven't used either.

Yes I edit the thread so it's my fault ...

I'm just worried about this spacebar on the noppoo because on FPS games, it's very important lol :)

Your English isn't great but good enough to understand. I have no idea why the other guys cannot understand your question. And the fact that peda doesn't know if they were questions even with you using correct punctuation makes me think he may of failed 2nd grade.

Forget the n00bs that act like that. It's the fact they're jealous of ripster.

The Poker is a great board but if you need the F keys easily accessible or dedicated arrow keys, go Noppoo.

Both are great keyboards.
Choc Mini is a great all around keyboard.
Poke is good for minimalist and portability.

The Noppoo is a fine board, it has a metal plate (much more solid than the Poker) and dedicated function and arrow keys. However the keycaps' lettering wears off easily, and it's not Mac compatible. For Windows/Linux it works fine (however on Linux the Caps Lock light doesn't turn on from what I read, but you do get the capital letters). I think for gaming the Noppoo is better than the Poker.
The Poker is lighter and more portable, has a detachable cable, and works fine with the Apple Mac.
I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other, it depends on your needs/preferences.

The keyboard will always stay on my desk ...
It's for gaming on a pc ...
I also wanted the most complete layout possible ...

So for the moment, the noppoo is a good choice I think...

What's the issue with the spacebar key of the noppoo ?

And thanks Sordna that's exactly the kind of answer I expected ...

I haven't heard of this spacebar issue. If anything, the Poker's spacebar will feel worse because of the Cherry Stabilizers. It's likely that somebody had a problem with one board, and it's not a problem on all Noppoo boards. I've heard good things about the Noppoo, more so than the Poker. You'll likely be happy with your purchase. :)

A last thing, I could easily remove the keys on the noppoo mini?
I bought Red Esc and Red WASD ... :)

I have a Noppoo Choc Mini with red switches and i find it really good beside of the linux issue with the caps lock light (as sordna stated already). The only other issue (which can easily be fixed) is a bit rattling of the spacebar when you touch it on the right hand side.

For my personal taste (and requirements), the poker is too much of minimalism.

@fossala: it was not meant to be offensively what i wrote. After re-reading it i can understand that i might came across wrongly. I can ensure you that it was not meant like this. I asked ilyama to rewrite it as i wanted the community and myself to fully understand the questions and therefore be able to provide proper answers.

Yes, no problem! :)

for gaming i would also recommend the noppoo because of the "fuller" layout and dedicated F-keys.

Ok guys, I wanted your opinions on this and I have it ! :)

I make the good choice with the noppoo ;)

'The only other issue (which can easily be fixed) is a bit rattling of the spacebar when you touch it on the right hand side.'

So on FPS games it will not be an issue if it"s on the right hand side... :)

it can easily be that this rattling is only on my board and not a general issue. It doesnt effect the functionality and can only be heard if you touch the spacebar gently on the right hand side. So it not an issue while being in normal use.

Rattling is a non-issue, it happens even to much more expensive keyboards, just remove the key and put some grease on the stabilizer.

Here is the noppoo with the ducky one:

I want ducky because Filco wrist rests are very expensive for me ...

But I can't find the measurments (particulary the length) of thoses Ducky wrist rests ...
I know it's the only thing different...

Is there custom caps with the same height than noppoo caps ?

Or it's normal to have this ?

Lol.

Here's the answer to the Purple WASD thing:  Just press firmly until it seats level with the other keys. Just tap it hard, like it's Noodles reaching for the soap in my prison.

It's an optical illusion if it still looks off.

That's not true. The Noppoo caps are a lower profile than the filco ones, so the purple WASD won't fit perfectly!

That's how it's going to be. The only thing you could do is buy a set of keycaps from WASDkeyboards, but the spacebar won't fit, and you won't be able to find keys to replace the 1.5x sized Alt and Ctrl (unless you use a row 4 keycap, as for Tab), and right shift will have to be a caps-lock key, which won't match the row profile exactly.
