I was not really that sure on what forum I should put this thread in but whatever. Anyone on GH still use good ol' LPs? Feel free to post recent purchases or collections or anything really.

Here is my tiny collection. Excited for the new Avalanches album. Also excuse the blurry picture my phone camera is not that great.

I have more 78 rpm than vinyls.

Well, not just 78rpm, as before  1925 the rotation speed was not standardized so I have discs labeled 80, 82, 75 rpms...

I have a Victrola gramophone like this

Bought in NYC and taken to Italy by my grandmother in the early years of 1900

and also a Radiomarelli radio/phonograph from 1950 or so

that can play anything from 16 rpm to 80 rpm thanks to the variable motor and the reversible pickup

That radiomarelli shown above was built well before the concept of HIFI was known.

Still sound way better than many solid state amplifier built 60 years later and is still working with the original capacitors and tubes.

Works great for playback. I've had it going on 3 years now, not a single issue. Thing is built like a tank.

One day I would like to move to a Grado cart.. would be nice!

I used to have over 3,600 lp, 12" and 7" singles. But i have sold the vast majority of my collection and am only down to around 500 currently. I made a lot of money selling so I am not that sad. It's so much easier having a single control vinyl and my computer when playing out these days. I still take a select few for spinning. For listening at home however, I still prefer vinyl and continue to keep my favorites and buy a lot of new vinyl when available, and of course used gems.
Most recent purchases:
Berlin: Pleasure Victim
Lene Lovich: Stateless
New Order: Blue Monday '88
Ofra Haza: Im Ninalu brixton mix
DJ Qbert: Bionic Booger Breaks

I just picked up Hvis Lyset Tar Oss by Burzum and This one EP by this Hip-Hop group, Strange Sanity. I have no idea who the latter are, but it sure had some humorous artwork. The rest of my collection consists of hand-me-downs from my parents. I prefer to have most of my music in a digital format, mostly because I'm too poor to afford physical copies of music.
Keyboards: Leopold Tenkeyless, Steelseries 6Gv2, Wants an IBM Model M

I have a small (20) album collection but it is still growing I Just pre-ordered Nirvana Nevermind 20th anniversary edition 4LP set. The 8Lp Hendrix set that is coming out in a week or 2 looks interesting.

New Orders's Substance is a great LP. I have that in my collection as well. It has the '83 version of Blue Monday, the original, which is much different than the '88 Quincy Jones version. Not to mention the different remixes on the '88 single. I paid used single price of $3 so it was a bargain.
I didn't post this before since I needed to take some time to look at what I have, but yet very far from a complete list...
Some of my most interesting records are Dangerhouse Records Yes L.A. clear with green and pink silkscreen, an autographed copy of Napalm Death's Harmony Corruption, Septic Death's Kichigai. I also have some nice bootleg vinyl of Misfits Return of the Fly EP, GISM, Confuse, Mob 47, Zouo, SoB... etc. lots of Japanese and Swedish punk/hardcore from the 80's. I have some obscure pressing of some more common records like Ramones Leave Home, but from CFRJ (Yugoslavia), Dead Kennedys In God We Trust from France. I have a bunch of unimpressive 80's records like Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Madonna, Stacey-Q, Michael Jackson, Real Life and Kraftwerk. Most recent stuff from the likes of Scissor Sisters and Mark Ronson. The rest is more common 80's punk/hardcore and black metal from the late 90's like Mayhem, Dark Funeral, Emperor, Anti-Nowhere League, Black Flag and X. I also have a few random disco records Like Stargard, Michael Zager, Bee-Gees, Donna Summer and of course Giorgio Moroder.

Compact discs blow! People were not meant to hear music with such clarity.

People need to hear snaps and pops and that ****!

Sounds cool. I saw some black flag at a rummage sale but didnt pick it up, went back 15 minutes later because it was a decent price and they were gone. I just got a bunch of stuff in the mail. Apollo Brown - Clouds, Holy **** - LP, Iceage - New Brigade, Iggy Pop - The Idiot, Surfer Blood - S/T, Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks. I had some extra spending money so I decided why not.

Iggy Pop's The Idiot is a classic. Though I prefer the Earlier Stooges stuff. I can't say I'm familiar with the rest of your artists. Back Flag is absolute childhood for me, so I can't resist if I see anything I don't have already. There isn't much I don't, just some of the harder to find pre Rollins stuff.

I don't have much of a collection on my own, just a few limited editions. My dad has a decent collection though, and an old B&O player to play them, so I'll often browse through his collection and play a few.
Also, I still listen to cassettes.

I have quite a few vinyl records, mostly bought out of bargain bins at places selling second-hand records, for prices from 75 cents to two dollars.
