Where to test out different Cherry MX Switches?
« on: Sat, 03 September 2011, 22:46:49 »
I'm in the market for a new mechanical keyboard in the northeast and don't know where I can go to test out the different switch types.  My buddy has a 6gv2 with blacks, but I have no reference to decide whether I like them better than the others or not.  Preferably a store that mechanical keyboards on display.

Microcenters apparently occasionally have Das Keyboards, so you might be able to get a feel for some blues/browns if you have one of those local. Other than that, the only one you will probably find will be a Razer Blackwidow, which will let you get a feel for some blues. You could also check out your local thrift shops to see if they have some buckling springs or Alps. And I'm not sure if the Blackwidow Stealth is around yet, but when that makes its way to retailers such as Best Buy, you can try browns on that.
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.
