Theoretical thoughts a Bolt Mod (IBM model M)
« on: Tue, 13 September 2011, 12:11:36 »
Hi,

I read some threads about bolt/modding an IBM model M.
There is somethings for which I dont find any informations:
When drilling the wholes one has to steer the drill perpenticular
to the tangent on the curve of the steel plate. Seems to me very
difficult drill stand.
And it seems to me equally difficult to fix an IBM model M
in a drill stand....

So, what is the trick to drill exactly that way?

Thank you very much for any help in advance!

Best regards,
mcc

It doesn't need to be that accurate.

I just use a dremel and aim as best I can.

Yeah, mcc, you're way over thinking it. Just keep the bit perpendicular to the plastic, drill through the middle of the stud, and it almost always comes out perfect.

Hi,

thanks for your replies... :)

If I would have a few boards to practise instead of to think over...I would agree. ;)

Have a nice evening (or whatever your timezone is in ;)))
