Logitech releases its own "Magic Trackpad" for Windows

And wow is it ever ugly compared to the Apple one.

But I guess if you want a separate trackpad for your Windows computer, you can't be too picky, huh? Only other ones I remember are the Cirque "Cat" touchpads, stored at the foot-level shelf at Fry's in plain brown boxes for a strangely high price.

Buttons big enough? If the device is approximately 5" wide, then the buttons are 2.5" by about 1" (maybe 0.75").

Guess they're going with function over form?

How does the Logitech logo, four "corners" and hump make it more functional?

It looks like it might actually have buttons.

That being said, I don't buy anything from Logitech any more because of their anti-support for the Spaceball 5000.

If you actually get accustomed to an Apple Magic Trackpad you realize that buttons are totally not necessary. I hate all Apple mice but their trackpad is amazing.

Amen. As much as I enjoyed the touch part of the Magic Mouse, it was ergonomically a train wreck.

Buttons are necessary. It's just that given the sheer borderline-unusable inertia of the one on the Trackpad, you train yourself into believing that if you're a (closet) Mactard.

Don't bring flying cats with rainbow diarrhoea into this :suspicious:

No-one answered my old question about the Filco touchpad either. I don't have a complete lack of finger coordination so I don't actually need anything that I need to make huge sweeps over. Gestures? Shmestures - I'll take keyboard shortcuts.
