What is this weird NMB keyboard?
« on: Wed, 14 September 2011, 21:59:36 »
I bought this mysterious keyboard as NOS on eBay about 5 years ago when I was studying Japanese and recently began using it as my main recently after my other board broke. However, I am now wondering what it is. It is a Japanese layout board made by NMB Technologies. The keys are tactile but non-clicky, and I sadly don't have a stack of nickels around at the moment for that test.

Here's a great pic of the stem with cap removed

Full board: imgurDOTcom/Eddy6
Back: imgurDOTcom/MQHEO

(Sorry for the inconvenience; I evidently can't even post a single URL because I am a forums newcomer)

Any further information would be greatly appreciated! I looked around in the wikis here and searched furiously, but to no avail... Is it some random ALPS clone? A magical rare gem?

So a classy rubber dome with great sliders, but still a rubber dome... The feel is pretty great :)
Thanks; I couldn't find anything similar in the forums...

(The forums robot counted my IMG tags as URLs and prevented their posting...)

Sure. NMB made 2 basic switch, these and what people usually call space invaders. If it feels good and works for you thats what counts. Of course if you want recommendations for other keyboards this is the right place.
