Any chance that these will be available in an ISO layout? UK English, for instance.

The board in the PCgamer article looks like it has a UK layout...

Oh, you're right!
I didn't check the pcgamer link, I was going by the photos I saw elsewhere earlier.
That's pretty great, it would be the first affordable ISO MX red keyboard on the market.

I bet BigWOP pulled the pics because they weren't supposed to be released until today.  I never knew him to get pissed, though; he's a pretty nice guy.

Yeah, seeing that all the tech-press announced them first thing this morning, I'm thinking BigWOP jumped the gun.

I doubt Engadget really adheres to press embargoes and NDAs.

They do, otherwise manufacturers would get pissed and stop giving them sneak peeks at upcoming tech and sending devices for testing well before the commercial release.
Of course they'll publish anything they can get their hands on from other sources (tipsters, leaks and whatnot) but if a company gives them a device to test and tells them to keep mum on it until X date, I bet they will keep the embargo.

What's with this odd color scheme? I have a Filco right now, and I'm planning on buying a Corsair 650D case in the near future. My Filco matches the Corsair cases much better than their own line of keyboards...

The WASD-only wrist rest is a neat touch, albeit a little gimmicky.

Which isn't even true for all mechanical gaming boards...Steelseries have always used Blacks exclusively.

blues/click is rather redundant for a gaming keyboard, if you're gaming you basically have headphones on, and you should so you can make sure you're not getting wtf pwn'd with a knife in the back, or you hear that the protoss are zerging in?

Yes that part is goofy.  In fact the first thing I'd do is ditch the key caps, because if you could find some proper key replacements I think this thing would look sweet.  There are some aspects of this board that look really good, like the media keys and such.  In the end though it's not in consideration for me with those switches and as a 104-key board.  How often would you use the keypad on a dedicated gaming keyboard anyway?

It's ugly as sin but I like it anyway. The more the merrier; different strokes, etc etc.
It seems to be more mod-friendly than other mechs on the market. I like how the keys are raised too. Should make cleaning a breeze on top of being moddable.

Wow, I just noticed that the keys are exposed all around without a bezel. It's kind of cool with the aluminum chassis. As for the spacebar, I'm not so sure it's real carbon fiber. Doesn't seem likely for this purpose. Even if it is textured, it's still fake carbon fiber

Though I agree the spacebar certainly doesn't look that great to me, I still plan to get one. I've wanted to at least try the Red keyswitches, and this board offers what I deem an above-average-looking design, with some interesting features, at a good price. I'm still waiting for the tenkeyless version, though.

What a keyboard to carry around. I can't wait for people to post disassembly photos, etc.

Since this is supposedly a "gamer" board I wouldn't hold my breath for a tenkeyless, but it's possible... it's just more likely they'll follow Razer's and Steelseries' footsteps in that regard.

Maybe the tenkeyless will be the K30 or something. I saw some pics of the K60 without the red wasd keys and I really like the look. I'm also itching to get red switches but I don't have an excuse. Also, I know for sure that the second I buy the K60, the tenkeyless will come out and look loads better

This is the first mainstream MX red keyboard right? Looks interesting, too bad they aren't tenkeyless or I would pick one up in a heartbeat.
Also some other guy asked whether or not the wristrest is detachable, just bumping that question because I don't really like it, quite gimmicky :P

cool aluminium, I've wanted to try MX red, I like the design, It's really a nice board. I'm not too hot on the spacebar, but I expect to replace it. I also don't see how the interesting angles on the 123456WASD keys will help, but it looks pretty solid all in all.

More: Macros are stored on-board in NAND, and the board supports on the fly recording. The face plate is rolled aluminum. Corsair is being secretive about the OEM, they'll only talk about the switches being "OEMd from Cherry". Either that or the rep I spoke to just has no clue.

Review samples being shipped between now and two weeks from now (presumably big sites get first priority).

Does anyone know if the aluminium is clear-anodyzed? If not, I'd highly recommend anodyzing it before use. I would assume they did, though.

Which is why their CX and GS series PSUs are filled with Teapo and/or SamXon capacitors. *rolleyes*

They're a company like any other. The difference is they have a *reputation* for maintaining a quality product line-up, so they won't cut corners anywhere it's visible, or anywhere that will cause reviewers to be more than mildly upset at them. If they think they can get away with it, they'll try it.

Corsair is hardly the holy grail, nor am I attempting to paint them off as perfect, but every Corsair product I or anyone I know has purchased, we've been very happy with.  With something like a keyboard, I highly doubt a company that puts themselves up on a "higher standard" are going to let their keys wear out in month.

The keycaps as well as the "caseless" construction (the plate = also the case...) and the programmable controller look a lot like the Rapoo V7. I opened that up the other day and could not find any signs of the OEM. I assume the Rapoo and this are both made by PLU.

those keys remind me of those red rubber ball we played dodgeball/four-square/kickball with in elementary school. then some big kid would punt the ball and it would get all lopsided and recess would be ruined for the next coupla weeks and we had to play tetherball until the school got replacement balls.

i'm inclined to think that the lettering won't last too long. but i doubt hardcore gamer who corsair is catering to will really care. now if those keys were doubleshot...
