Why does it have to be so goddamn expensive? €90 for a mouse? Really, SS?

Been selling for a while in Poland, €67 (and shipment from Poland should be relatively inexpensive too), so if you can find a Polish shop and make your way through the Polish or it does have an English version... (The Polish word for mice is "myszy" or "myszki", singular is "mysz" or "myszka").

The first wave was 10% cheaper but ran out too fast. I made an order but it was cancelled due to lack of stock. Maybe that was a good thing. I'm looking at Logitech more right now. And before you go for Sensei, spend a moment comparing it to the Xai. Or even Logitech G500 (same sensor on all). Maybe you'll like them better, subjectively.

I'd love to spring for a Sensei, but I'm a little over laser mice. For some reason, with the way I use a mouse they don't track as well as my optical mice.

I remember reading a quote on the Team Liquid forums saying that the Sensei uses the exact same sensor as the Xai. It's just the Xai with an onboard ARM Processor (to do what? idk, support the 10k DPI?) and flashy LED colours basically.

Avago 9500. It's also found in Logitech's G9X, G700, G500, as well as a couple of products from other companies, including a comparably cheap Prestigio brand.

Steelseries says it's a completely new mouse inside but I don't know to what extent that's possible if the sensor is the same and the keys are probably no less good, well, other than the processor. Roccat's Kone+ (dif. from plain Kone) also has a processor and also has this Avago 9500 sensor.

Unfortunately, A4tech isn't doing it. They'd be the likeliest company to deliver a Xai-comparable mouse for half the price.

If this is a response to the differences between this mouse and the xai than it is not a difference.

The xai has the same lcd on the bottom.

Yeah I don't really see a reason to get a Sensei over a Xai unless they make the scrollwheel a little better (it's not the best on the Xai, passable but definitely a weak point).

Scrollwheel is exactly the same only slightly more flat from what I've read.

To most hardcore fps gamers that's a good thing.  To browsers it's a bad thing.  If you want something like it you can always go for the kone+;  It has a better scroll wheel as well.  Different shape though.

I could never get used to the xai/sensei's shape.  It's just that my thumb and ring/pinky would get tired in long gaming sessions.  Slight prediction even when turned off, and Xai still had noticeable acceleration on my hard pad.  I'm just not sure what SS can go from there, other than the bright lights/macro/higher dpi.  What's going to be their next mouse?  20k dpi.

All these flashy, crappy mice selling makes me sad inside. To each their own I suppose but half the people will "recommend" it to their friends like it is the best mouse ever since they spent $90 on it. Same thing happened with the xai and the rat series.

Kid buys a 90$ mouse. Convinced of it being the best mouse ever he plays with more confidence and wins more. Overall this is a nice buy dont you think ? My Xai is awesome, at least it makes me feel awesome. I'm still using a MX518 at my job and can compare everyday (though not gaming at work obviously).

Actually, it may be a good purchase on the merits, not just a confidence boost. I think I can pull off better micro and more easily with a Logitech G9X (same sensor as the Xai and the Sensei) than I could with my optical mouse (which has the same sensor as the Logitech MX518).

Also, shape/weight affects how fast you can move and how fast you get tired. The Xai and other Steelseries mice should have an advantage here if you want a light mouse for lots of fast movements without getting too tired/aching.
