Has anyone dealt with Elitekeyboards.com support?
« on: Fri, 30 September 2011, 12:23:47 »
Why hello there everyone! I've been having an issue with my keyboard's Caps Lock LED light, in that it just randomly shut completely off, and nothing I do will get it to indicate if caps lock is on or off anymore. I've contacted Elitekeybord's support email address, but I get absolutely no response. Has anyone got a response from them that was helpful? Have you gotten a replacement keyboard from them successfully? Are they a reputable company that will actually give you decent support? It's still less than a month since I purchased it, so I want an exchange at least, and it really worries me that they haven't responded, and there's no way to just call them.

While I haven't personally dealt with them, I've talked to people about it briefly, and I've gone through their warranty information, and it looks like if it's been more than 30 days, you have to ship it to them for repair, and if they verify the issue, they will cover the cost of shipping it back.

I had a Filco that was missing the logo, and they turned it around very quickly.

In case you haven't done this already, try the keyboard on one or two different computers.  If you see the problem on other computers then most likely it is the keyboard's problem.  If not, it could be your computer.

@Quarzac That's one of the reasons I'm kinda worried about it, it's less then 30 days now, but if they don't respond, it won't be less than 30 days anymore! I hope they aren't purposefully stalling.

@litster I'll have to try that out, I only restarted the computer I had. However, if it is an issue with the computer, what would I do?

And Elitekeyboards Leopolds are STILL missing the logo.

What's with THAT?

Hahaha, I love it that they don't have a logo. It's much cleaner to look at.

Yup, it's an issue with the keyboard. Tried it in another computer and the light still doesn't work. Argh.

I use Caps Lock very often.  'Boards with the lock lights on the keys bother me, because I can't see when the Caps Lock is on since my hand is in the way.  It's pretty easy to notice when the Caps Lock is on when the lights are in the upper right.  That way you knock out a whole sentence in Caps before realizing it.  MS Word will turn it off for you automatically and fix whatever you typed.  That feature has saved a few e-mails of mine in the past.

Might want to try iomania.co.kr in the future.  I contacted kant1971 here on GH, and ordered a new Realforce 87U anniversay edition, and then added a tenkeyless keyboard bag for $39US.  Shipping for just the keyboard was $50, but no additional shipping cost to add the keyboard bag.  The keyboard bag is $50 at EK.  Overall it is not cheaper than EK, but if you buy a few things at the same time, shipping is not that bad, plus they already have the Filco Multicam keyboards available.  Ripster might want to get it from them :-)

They're usually quick to respond. If your email doesn't get a response it could be possible it somehow ended up in their spam folder. You could try emailing from another address, or sending a second message, or phoning them. Keep in mind they are a very small company with limited resources, they don't have a call centre etc.
