well, I don't really KNOW if that's what happened... I just wanted to look something up out of curiosity and went to their web site and saw what I saw.  I have no other information than that.

Now if I go to the English site, they have the G80-3000 still listed but only w/ blues

http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/keyboards/Office/G80_3000_MX/index.htm

and the G80-1865, but only in browns.

It would also appear that they've introduced some new "STRAIT" keyboard which is apparently the product that they're going to be promoting the most (like they ever promoted anything?) and that apparently uses "LPK" switches (whatever those are) and looks for all the world like it's an attempt to compete with the Apple aluminum board.

Hi,

The G80-1800 and G80-3000 series have not been discontinued. If you go to our German website (http://www.cherry.de/english) you can simply type the part number into the search field...or just follow the links below.

http://www.cherry.de/cid/b2b_keyboards_G80-1800.htm

http://www.cherry.de/cid/b2b_keyboards_G80-3000.htm

We currently only offer the G80-3000LSCEU-2 (Blue MX) and G80-1865LXNEU-2 (Brown MX) in North America but all the other variants can be special ordered. Minimum order quantities will be required on special orders.

The Strait and other models you see on our keyboard home page are targeted for our regular consumer PC users, not super users like yourselves.

If you have any questions concerning our products you can contact Cherry Tech Support at keyboardsupport@zf.com

Hi, can you tell me whether any Cherry keyboards (including the G80-3000 and G80-1865) are available with the switches mounted to a metal plate.

Thanks
