It was formerly attached to an "LCD-286" lunchbox PC.
My camera photo didn't come out, so it's like this one, but gray/brown:

Here's a closeup of the PC branding:

I borrowed the keyboard to see if it worked.
I was able to get it to function on my PC with an AT->PS/2 adapter for my native ps/2 port, but I couldn't get it to work through my usb adapter. Perhaps I need to try another one.

My adapter is an Adesso that identifies itself as

It looks like the same form factor and device as the Ez Smart Adapter Ez-PU21 in the wiki.

This lunchbox PC/keyboard combo isn't mine, but the keyboard is awesome. The orange lettering on the brown keys is the bomb.

If anyone has more info on this type of computer and/or the keyboard it uses, I'd love to hear it.

Its a Dolch. There is one of these on ebay right now.

I've wanted one of these for the caps, but that large enter key ruins it for me.

Nice. The old-style Dolch keyboards that I have seen have had red legends on the dark grey keys.

Awesome. Thanks for the info everyone. I do love the style.

I'm actually ambivalent on the layout. The caps/lock placement is damned strange to me. Took me a few moments to find the "pipe|" key, but otherwise the giant "enter" et al. doesn't bug me.
I *really* like the color scheme, though.

@Kishy -- awesome . Love the LCD. Wish the display on this one worked.

Hmm. Those would actually make a sweet set of caps for a Steelseries 7G. They would match SS's own printed gray cap set too.

Edit: Ah, now I know why my Dolch went for so little, spelling error! LOL

Yeah, as I wrote that, I had a vague thought that in some long forgotten past, I may have used a keyboard with that placement. But at this point, regardless, it isn't what I expect. (Not that I've had too much trouble adjusting to Sun, Unix-like vs. Windows-centric, various other oddities in the past....)
I'll have to look up a model F. I'm one of the weirdos who always thought buckling spring keys were just too harsh, though (early onset RSI....).

Keep in mind there's a bat-handle toggle switch on the video card beside the EGA connector which disables the internal LCD, and the contrast slider can suggest it is not displaying even when it is.

It's missing a lot of parts internally. I'll have to poke around a bit more, but I'm not optimistic at this point.
