And add o-rings to the keys (see the WASD Keyboards site) to make it even nicer.

If your just going to modify the WASD get a semi custom. I personally recommend o-rings to dampen bottoming out. I wount use a cherry mx keyboard long without them.

I don't use the O-rings , but the semi custom is the way to go. The truth is though. I got two sets of WASD keys but never put them on because the all black looks so nice.

Thing with the O-rings is...
You may bottom out softer, good idea on first sight,
but you will also bottom out earlier which sucks if you try not to bottom out in first place ;)

I need to pull the trigger soon, but all this reading and I need to figure out what I prefer... blacks, reds, blues or browns. I feel like everyone asks this and it is a matter of preference, but is there a good color to start on?

Start on Blues if you don't mind high pitch clicks  and browns if you want more of a deep clack with potential to be quite if you don't bottom out.  Both make great starter switches.

I bought blues first and while I like them alot, I prefer the browns. Coming from rubber domes you won't be disappointed with either decision.

I think I'm gonna get a standard Ducky or cheap board with blues and then bring it to work, then get a brown for home. The backlit Ducky looks awesome, anyone have one?

Ok I've narrowed down my choices to Ducky Shine with Cherry Brown here, Noppoo backlit with MX Black - like so and the Filco Ninja Tactile (MX Brown). Sorry to keep rehashing but has anyone used these side by side to give me a comparison? I feel browns are my best choice for my first mech.

If possibly go with the dk9008s or 9000s, the 1087s seem to get allot of bad rep for their build quality.
