Hopefully this won't end up like the free USB drive I was supposed to get a year ago.

This is going to be an odd package to explain to my roommates.

My mother is going to be absolutely flabberghasted by the box of 20 keyboards that will inevitably arrive on her doorstep.

I have the pleasure of explaining to my boss two things:

1. Why I have 1000+ keycaps sitting on the kitchen table
2. Why I have 100 bubblemailers with addresses pre-assigned.

Did you make any profit off it? That's usually a good enough explanation for most people. Goes something like this:
"Why is there an 80 pound box on the porch?"
"Twenty bucks to be made."
"Jolly good then."

I don't intend to try to make profit off of it;I just like keyboards. They know that but they are a little bit un-technological so it takes a bit of clever wording to get them to either drop the subject or come to some level of understanding.

When I try to explain mechanical keyboards to my friends... it doesn't go well. I know where you're coming from. Thankfully, my family doesn't care provided I maintain some level of fiscal responsibility. Try big words. People get confused and go away.

Luckily I am not around my parents when I buy this ****; just coworkers. Coworkers are easy to convince that some hobbies are normal.

My friends are gamers, and actually admire some of our keyboards (there are a few of us amongst the group that have nice ones).

I'm with 'em until college in about a year. They're pretty cool with my internet buying/selling though, and I have no complaints at all. I've had a couple buddies try out my Leopold for a couple seconds, and the the reaction is always "Oooh, that's nice."

Yea, some people don't really recognize how often they use a computer to the point where they care about finding a good one.

it's even easier to explain to other gamers you know about a mech keyboard, as long as you're top dog just be like "yea this why i pwn u", yea it sounds stupid but look at the golf course, at every hole is a bit of one up man ship with golf clubs, same as any hobbie heh.
