I didn't see this posted yet, but Newegg has the Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard with red switches on sale for 130 - 30 Gift Card with free shipping.

I guess I can't post URL's as a new user? It's pretty easy to find if you just look it up at Newegg.

I hear red switches are rare, so it seems like a pretty good deal.

I don't think I can afford to get one, seeing as I just bought two of the blue switch ones. If only I had a money tree.
Quality seems pretty good, there's a review of the blue switch one here http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:12688
Personally, I think it's great, no complaints about build quality, though I haven't opened it to check the soldering or anything.
One thing I don't care about, that some might, is that the key cap quality doesn't seem to be top of the line.
It has red plating under the keys which IMO looks really cool, especially after mixing it with some colored keys.
#1 complaint I have is that the space bar is a bit squeaky for some reason. No idea why. I'm gonna look into it later though.

At the end of the day, that price for a mechanical in general is pretty damn good.

There is a guide somewhere about greasing the stabilizers on the spacebar to get rid of that squeak, maybe check Ripsters sig.

The quality of these boards is amazing. IMO It's better than Filco. It feels very tough and rigid. My favorite board I own :D

I just got a blue switch Rosewill in the mail today, and to me it is indistinguishable from my Filco.

Hey, how did you post that link with only 4 posts?  You must be a SpamBot!

Uh oh! I've been had! Time to close up shop. What am I going to do with all this leftover, outrageously low priced, questionably safe, Viagra?!?

Edit: I just took the spacebar off, looked at it, and put it back on and it squeaks 90% less. Science!

This post made my morning; especially because of the inclusion of science!

I don't have a rosewill, but I'd say that anything from costar (the company that does the manufacturing) sholud be top-notch quality. Also, I read somewhere that the PCB controller in the rosewill says 'filco' on it. What's with that?

Finally, I'll have to check, but I think I was able to post URLs as a newbie. I could be completely wrong on that, though.

I definitely couldn't post the original link to the Newegg deal, despite several tries. No idea why the second link posted though.
If you check the pictures in the afore mentioned link, there's a picture of the Rosewill controller that says Filco on it. I guess it really is a clone.

Same here.  It's my first mechanical keyboard ever.  Hopefully they have a sale on the MX Brown's Rosewill as well; $100 with $20 GC would be nice :)

I just ordered one of these, but I'm not sure WHY.  I don't need it... I already have a Reds board and I have too many boards already.  WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME GEEKHACKERS?!?

I think it was the posts about how great the build quality is that really got me.  Thanks for that bit of reassurance.

Update:  It's a remarkably well made board.  These are FAR smoother and quieter than any of my other boards, ghetto reds included.  I find that I don't bottom out as much because I'm actually trying to type as quietly as possible.
Great board, thanks for the recommendation.
