I'm back.
« on: Fri, 21 October 2011, 15:20:32 »
I'm not sure if anyone missed me here, but I'm finally back.
Damn, I missed this community and all my keyboards.
I had a compound shin fracture, and I also broke my fibula so I have been in the hospital for two weeks, but I still had to lay in bed for another few weeks...
I was in a complete agony until now. Hopefully it gets better from now on.

Trust me buddy, it is way worse in real-life.
I was awake during the operation and I was forced to listen all that hammering crap.

I haven't been around too long, but you were around when I first joined. From what I recall, you had quite a few useful posts. Glad to see a pleasant member of Geekhack has returned.

Thanks. I don't take those, I just bear the pain. It is really tough at nights.

Unfortunately, I have no video of the accident. It would be quite interesting to watch it as I'm not fully aware how it happened.
All I remember I tried to cross a stream. There was no bridge, just a huge pipe. I slipped at the top of the pipe and fell backward then I heard a sudden crack and yelled like crazy while I was rolling backward.
My shin penetrated through the skin so badly that it looked like a huge spear. I thought that I might lose my lower left leg. I had to hold it in my hands while I was waiting the ambulance.

I'm glad you didn't; it might look a little like this:

(If you view this on Youtube, you can play a game of snake)

I'm glad you were able to keep your leg and everything is OK.  Get better soon.

Nope, just googled it. If I had made the video you would have seen 3 more incisions for those additional interlocking screws.
