Okay just got a reply and started a brief convo about it. She's going to run a test print of them tomorrow to see how they look. The only problem that I forgot about is that they can't dyesub white. That only eliminates the stars, but unless you want to do the stars in a different color, we're going to have to do without them. I'm not sure whether she's going to print them on blue or white keycaps... but hopefully both.

How bout doing a light yellow and if that's not possible, a more saturated yellow?

I think its exactly as how Ragnorock says, it'll probably look more vibrant on the white because the colour will show up more. Guess we'll know more when the test results comes out

Blue stars on a white keycap might work, thoughts? Yellow on blue sounds good to me otherwise.

Perfect, I just got a feeling the blue won't come out as nice cuz the colour will be faded into the blue while the white would look really nice with the colour being really vibrant.

If we end up using the blue background, a very light blue might be neat for the stars as well. Light blue looks very similar to white. Random example from Google images:

Okay here are some early prototypes, the backspace is an off white because she hadn't made any in the WFJ that the top row of keys are, so while that doesn't look very good expect the colors to be like they are in the top row- very vivid and look great. She didn't have any of the correct blue keys on hand either, whether she meant just the backspace or all of the keys I'm not sure, as it appears the row 4 keys are darker than the backspace.

Keep in mind that everything is relative since its a photograph, the actual colors probably vary from what is displayed on all of our monitors. You can tell that the printing does go pretty much up to the edge on the r4 keys, but not on the backspace, and while the colors do look much more natural on the white keys, they somewhat remind me of ice cream advertisements and I can say with confidence now that I like the blue better.

Also apparently the other group buys are shipping tomorrow, and will get here on thursday... hopefully these will be included so I can take more pictures and give you a more accurate description of the colors- the grey may have come out slightly blue on the blue keys, but it seems to match the color on the beige key so it could just be a trick on the eyes.

Those are amazing. Sadly the blue ones really mess up the lighter colors on nyancat, including the grey... In this case, I would go with white. But omg the blockyness is amazing. <3<3<3

Besides that I think the white looks better, only because this blue is a lighter blue then what we're gonna be getting so with the darker blue means the colour even less vibrant, while the white one the colour looks really good but in the end you're the OP

If we changed the grey to a darker grey, it should look less blue (I think). The yellow looks a bit eh. On 2nd look, the green and purple may need touching up in color as well.

Totally agree with oneproduct. Even the color of the cat seems blue-ish on the blue key. The colors on the white keys look brighter than the blue one.

I asked if she could send me the keycaps to see in person. She grumbled about having to reopen the box and put them in but I'm pretty sure she'll do it. When I suggested blue from the start I expected the colors to be skewed blue somewhat. Once I get the keycaps I'll make a judgement call on whether its too blue or not. (Keep in mind the cat in the picture is a Russian blue lol.) Apparently neither of the blues are the blue from the \KL keycap buy. A darker grey would make it look less blue but also less contrast to the black as well. Keep discussing guys, I know the white's colors look fantastic but I keep imagining them on my keyboard and having people question my sexuality. 'Jus sayin.

Yeah, It wasn't my first choice then. But now seeing the physical keys, I think it might be better than blue-tinted-uglyness.

If we can go to the edge of the keycap, why don't we add in as much blue background as possible by having another colour (darkerbluebackground) on the white keycaps? that way it's got some amount of background there. I think it could look better.

Ugghhh, the rainbow on the top is so crisp! I'd take it over blue if the backspace was just as nice and nyancat's fur didn't have that blue tint.  I REALLY wish the blue keycaps would work out, though.  I don't even mind the blueberry flavor that nyancat has right now on the light blue, but I worry that everything'll become duller if we use the darker blue.  Sigh.

White it probably is then, what color should we do the stars, yellow or blue? I vote blue if its on white. Still don't want to do a blue background on them, but if everyone wants that I'll do it. You guys don't think it'll look funny to have white on all the sides and then essentially no white on top? It's supposed to be a legend not a decal.

I would say the stars should be blue if they're on white. Also, I assume this is the same white as the portal set? Also, does anyone know what board these whites would best match? Are the Leopolds solid white like this, or weird off-white/cream?

I'm on a white Leo now, and I wouldn't call it cream or off-white.  It's not super bright either, though.

I'm definitely leaning towards the whites, if it's as bad (imo) as it looks on the blues.
I don't think the stars look bad, being the yellow they are, on the white, I have a feeling I might prefer it to blue stars.

Regardless, I might need a new pair of pants.
