Any other chess players around these parts? I've been playing for about a year now. I'm not the best, but I've definitely gotten better. I'd love to throw down against some of you guys, see if I can learn a thing or two! I play on chess.com from time to time. Try to guess my username.

Friend me on chess.com. The username is Quarzac. Do you only play live chess, or are you down for correspondence?

The occasional chess game is fun.  Haven't played much since my high school days, though.

I will likely face that same problem. I'm currently playing in my high school days.

I gave it a shot, but you have too many active games! Challenge me when some of yours clear up, and I'll get to it! Also, I put you down as my referrer. I don't know if that does anything for you, but I thought I'd let you know. Username is, surprise surprise, Quarzac.

More of a Backgammon kind of person since Chess is kind of frustrating since I'm new and can't read 10 moves ahead.

I can make it like, 4 or 5 on a really, really good day. Usually I can get 3. The problem is when I can't properly account for the other person's moves. You don't need 10 to beat a lot of people. Though I know a couple who play 8-10 moves ahead, and they're ridiculous.
