I did not realize the M15 came with wrist rests.  It's already at $450 and climbing.

Lots of people who won't be winning this are bidding early and often, meanwhile the eventual winner won't bid until the last second.

Is the Model F AT an industrial grey model? It doesn't look dark enough to be industrial grey, but it sure as heck doesn't look beige. FIrst I thought it was just the camera but now i'm not sure.

Very nice! The boards that is. (Not the prices.) It'd be interesting to see how much they eventually sell for.

While it's not my dream 'board anymore, it would be nice to have in my collection.  This one is especially nice.

I'd choose the F AT over the cheapo M15 any day.

Do want.  Don't want enough to bid on it, but want nonetheless.  Almost enough to kinda sorta regret having bought that Leopold with clears.  Damn would that mother piss off my coworkers :)

Staggered keys and a 75cN actuation force are not ergonomic. Save $1000-$1500 and get a Kinesis. I wonder if the people who will bid over $1000 for an M15 want a collector's item or a daily driver.

The F AT's pretty sweet....

RSI prevention recipe:[/B] Kinesis Contoured, Colemak layout, touch typing, Contour Design Rollermouse,  Logitech TrackMan Wheel, Logitech m570 trackball, "workrave" break timer software, "awesome" window manager, tenkeyless boards, cherry browns, Wang 724 with "ghetto green" ALPS, standing desk and/or comfy adjustable chairs, stress reduction, computer time reduction.

Same buyer won both.  Like I said, all it takes is 2, only 2, willing bidders to bid up the price.  Someone finished Christmas shopping early, for a loved one, or oneself.

Actually, yours truly :-)
The M15.

I was in from under $100, and all the way up to 3 seconds before closing.
My last max bid was $1200, and it went for $1225 - two guys competing and sniping.
Actually pretty glad I didnt win that one.
Think of all the fun boards you could get with that cash :-)

By the way, anybody feel like selling one from their bargain basement....

Chris

I'm glad I wasn't around to see these.

Under $1300 for NIB? I guess we're still in a recession. The last NIB went for $1800+ IIRC.

they should consider issue limited edition of model M and F.

Who are they?

Unicomp: no doubt.

Everyone says that if they start really looking at how easy it would be for them to bring back the SSK, and ebay tells us how well it'd sell, they'll still never (it seems) do it.

And if they had the capability, and werewithal to remake the IBM model F, we'd all be happy, and it'd sell a lot, but they probably won't.

Even a super-expensive limited edition would be pretty excellent.

I get the impression that Unicomp is just able to stamp out and assemble parts from the molds they already have, and that they're just hanging on. I bet they don't have what they need to make SSK PCBs, and it would take selling a thousand in a year to be worth their while. I don't think ebay activity proves the market for a thousand $150 off-brand buckling-spring SSKs.

They could use their normal PCB for a mini pretty easily, I'm sure the difficulty comes in printing up a new membrane sheet for it (so expensive!) and digging up a smaller mold for the barrels, plate and case.

Really there'd be much easier to DIY (cut down a fullsize M) if there were better ways for a DIYer to make a membrane.
