I've seen those before. I think it was ALPS copies, linear.

They are the bigfont keyboards for the visually impaired, they are ALPS copies but I heard they do not feel good, but never owned one myself (almost got it for the colorful keycaps).

loving the matrix though.

And all the keycaps look the same profile. Good for putting into Dvorak, Colemak, etc.

Those keys are ~30mm, so I don't think anyone will be touch typing on those.

Thanks for the responses guys.
It's a shame there are no keyboards, that I know of, that cater to those of us with big fingers. As much as I enjoy mechanical keyboards, I can't help but feel the keycaps are too small for my fingers. :(

Oh, you were SERIOUS!

Well I feel these do go a bit too far in the opposite direction lol , but yes!
Normal keyboard keys are too close together for comfort.

Oh, you were SERIOUS!

Why not email them and ask them the switches?

This ^^^ made my day. oh by the way got my blue cube in today and am currently typing on my first mechanical keyboard ever... a monterey K108 with blue switches, I made my warped keycaps work for now. Cannot wait to get my WASD though!

Those key switches are white clicky Alps copies.

They are good switches and I think that the switches probably feel good themselves, it is just that the key tops are so large that they are inherently wobbly compared to conventional keys. I also doubt that they would endure serious abuse for very long.

I have one of these (white case) on ebay right now at a good price. It was marketed by Milton Bradley as a children's keyboard, but I understand that they sold much better to elderly people with vision or motor problems.

If I had an old auntie with arthritis or bad eyesight, I would give it to her.

No matter how fat your fingers are, a "normally able" person will not like the non-standard layout.

Dude, that's not Comic Sans.  Probably a bastard son of Arial.

The font on the letters in the second one? Definitely Comic Sans.

Oh it has a matrix layout and is tenkeyless, I'm interested!

The layout of the education one vaguely illustrates the deficiencies of the qwerty layout too...

There's a US dealer here: http://www.chestercreek.com/KinderBoard.html and they have wireless models!

Edit: It's on Amazon for much cheaper too....

This could be a cool mod for someone with monstrous fingers.

Here is my board with Alps keycaps (from an Apple AEK2 with white (cream) Alps) which fit and are ever so slightly higher (perhaps 2 mm?).

The pitch is a full inch, and with the extra height factored in, there is ample room for even a Sasquatch to enjoy the wide-open finger spaces!

Don't know what to tell you about the spacebar, it is 6" long, and the Enter is 3" and both have metal wire stabilizers.

The AEK2 will be for sale too, I have not cleaned or tested it, but I am guessing that it is OK.

Finally, I have a BRAND NEW mod to offer this forum that has given me so much!

so,are you like 7'4 or something?

and if you are required to type at your job im sure you could get them to pay for a keyboard that fits your hand. hell, even if you quit they'd probably let you keep it,who else could use it?

I'm self-employed :)
I can't buy a keyboard that fits my hands because there aren't any available.
But my hands are not really as big as the picture I uploaded. That was just to give people and idea of where I'm coming from... I can get away with using a standard keyboard, but I would prefer larger keycaps.

I looked very closely and did not see any marks that said "Alps" so maybe they were embarrassed to put their name on a children's keyboard?
