Hi guys first time posting here! I have spent hours upon hours researching this but can't find any answers. My current computer is the Asus G73Jh which has no PS/2 ports. I'm currently using a Razer Black Widow for gaming but am getting the SteelSeries 6Gv2 due to the Blacks and the NKRO which leads me to this question. Can I use the supplied PS/2 adaptor and plug it into a USB to PS/2 adaptor? Would it have to be active or passive? The only reason I'm going this route is because my computer doesn't sport PS/2. I want to achieve NKRO! Thank you.

It is not gonna work that way. You will need an active adaptor.

Nope it doesnt. He said he wanted NKRO. That method won't utilize the NKRO capabilities of the keyboard.
Even with the bluecube it will be only 5KRO. I would stick with the default USB plug.

Do as ripster said, but replace the blue cube with a Teensy loaded with my converter code - then you'll have NKRO :-)

Holy USB boner Batman! Thanks for the reponse guys. Im going to go ahead and order the StarTech USBPS2PC from Amazon.com hopefully it'll work. If not then I'll return it. Ive noticed that NKRO can be beneficial in FPS.

A dual-mode keyboard that is NKRO over PS/2, with its PS/2 adapter fitted and then plugged into my converter, will give you NKRO over USB.

That will not give you NKRO. No off-the-shelf adapter will give you NKRO.

You should consider if you really want NKRO... any six keys (plus modifiers) is good enough for most people!

someone did not understand NKRO here. In an FPS game you will never need more than 6KRO!

Haha no. Ive noticed when i game sometimes a key gets stuck such as w,a or d. Could that also be a limit of 6kro?

That depends. There is/was a bug in Windows (fixed in Win7 SP1, but remains unfixed in XP) that can do something like that, but only if you're pressing at least 7 or 8 keys in total, and including at least 1 or 2 modifiers (on a 6KRO keyboard). For example, pressing and holding Ctrl Shift A S D F G H in that order, and releasing in reverse order, will leave H stuck. Once the bug is triggered, the only easy way to get normal operation back is to unplug and reconnect the keyboard (or reboot).
