O-rings 40A best I suppose?

Hello.

I found a thread once, where people meant that the lowest hardness is the best?

However I can't find that thread now, and I'd really like to order some O-rings from wasd now.

Therefore anyone got any knowledge about this?
And sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find any information by searching or looking in the wiki.

It comes down to personal preference. Softer o-rings dampen the sound (and the bottom out impact) more than harder o-rings. However if a material is too soft (like a 20A durometer) instead of a "defined" bottom-out point, you get a vague/mushy feeling when bottoming out.
Having tried 3 different hardnesses, 70A, 50A, 40A I like 40A the best. Another thing going for wasd's 40A o-rings is that they are pink instead of the usual black color, so you won't mix them up with regular o-rings, and they are easier to find if you happen to drop one on a black keyboard :-)

Go with the 40A one the 50A a just slightly too hard (at least for my tastes). I just got mine today an put them on my WASD with Blues and my Leopold with Clears. I already loved the clears made them feel even better.

i get the mcmaster carr #2418T114 and they feel good, though i use them with the firm soft landing pads from elite. yes, i use them at the same time. It is more of a thickness thing, though. i prefer my keyboard to bottom out right after the tactile click/actuation point. and the combo of those two together are the perfect thickness. also, the orings hold the landing pads in place on the key.

I think that EK's soft landing pads in both renditions are vastly inferior to o-rings. The firm fell very mushy at the bottom of the key press. The soft feel better over all as there is no mushy feeling they really just make the key harder to push. I tested the firm on blacks and blues and soft on blues, reds, and clears. i have the older 50A nitril o-rings on a 3 of my keyboads and the new EDPM 40A on 2.

I am in contact to a german company producing o-rings.
As next step I am waiting for an offer about 40A EPDM rings.
I think I could get a price like 0,05€ per ring if I take a few thousand.
A few weeks ago I got some harder rings made of Neoprene and shared them with some guys in Europe and even worldwide shipping is only 1,50€ in an envelope.
If enough people here are interested I should get a good deal set up.
