Beyerdynamic MMX300 Manufaktur
« on: Fri, 18 November 2011, 05:58:27 »
SOLD!

I have a like new beyerdynamic mmx300 manufaktur for sale. The MMX300 is basically the best gaming headset there is.

It's the manufaktur 32ohm DT770    audiophile model with a very high quality condenser microphone and a USB soundcard with headphone out/mic in. It also has a carrying case. It's white glossy with black yokes and black cup ring. The pads and headband cover are black pleather.

I also have extra pair of manufaktur gel pads for it (clear gel pads). These pads add bass, smooth the highs a bit and most of all increase the external noise isolation considerably. Very goof for listening in a noisy room or with the TV on.

The price for the headset is 200 euro. You can add the gel pads for 25 euro.

This is the beyerdynamic usb soundcard:

These look insanely fancy.  Is the mic detachable?

No it's not detachable, it just swings up.

I played some Skyrim today just to see how it is, damn the sounds in that game are good, the people muttering, the forest sounds are all super clear and the weapons hitting have such authority / resonance. Too bad I don't have time for it. ;)

Thanks Ripster, I'll find it and check it out.

By the way, the normal (no mic) DT770 can be customized by the manufaktur service as well.

I don't know the PC360 but the PC350 is much worse. Actually the PC350 is bad even if you don't compare it to anything else. The PC360 seems to be a revision of the PC350 to me.

The Beyerdynamic build quality is on another level and the sound signature is different (super clear sound with controlled but not overbearing bass). It's very good also with Dolby Headphone. I had and listened to many headphones (Sennheiser HD600, 650, 800, AKG K1000, Denon D7000, Sony CD3000, all Grados except the PS1000 and the old rare models). This is the best gaming headphone there is for a non-crazy price. The Sony CD3000 is better but it's build quality is crap and it's not a headset.

Just to be clear, the headset has a 3.5mm mic and audio jack connectors, and an adapter to 6.3mm jack. So you can plug it into anything (phones, pc's, receivers, headphone amps) -  you don't have to use the included soundcard, it's not wired to that soundcard. I use a Centrance DACport and a Headroom Desktop Balanced DAC/AMP.  :)

any interest in other keyboards not on your list? I have plenty of vintage stuff.

I can't think of any vintage keyboard I like more than my keyboards, and I'm not a collector. :)

What I actually want is a portable keyboard to use with a slate tablet and a htpc (KBC Poker red or brown) and a set of black keycaps with dark gray writing that fits my Ergoplus. Also, some o-rings.

I also want computer hardware like:
- an i5 2500k that can do stock close to 1Volt, 8gb ddr3 ram and a matx z68 motherboard without sata ports on the edge
- a Kingwin / Superflower 500W fanless PSU
- a 27" IPS monitor (low input lag models only)

Funny how this is another product that QPAD sells on a different name and price (Just like their keyboard from iOne, XArmor).
I'm not sure if its worth getting those over my PC360 though.

That DT797 probably has a microphone that's limited to the vocal range and cardioid, and you probably have to shout into it, and you have to use a real XLR mic preamp. The MMX300 microphone works out of a soundcard and is really good at making keyboard noise recordings. :) What would be ideal is a T5P with a detachable microphone with multiple polar patterns.

Also, the Qpad and the DT797 are based on the DT770 pro - the MMX300 is based on the DT770 premium.

Also, I googled the PC360 and it's an open back headphone. The MMX300 is closed back, they're not competitors, you have to know what you want. Gaming means closed back, unless you're playing alone in your room at night. :)

From going over the technical specification PDF I have found that the DT 797 is perfect for my needs and should work well with my DAC as it has all the necessary features. The place where I plan on buying from does have a 14 day return policy so I should be good if it either doesnt work or I dont end up liking the soundscape.

Yes, but you have a professional firewire external sound card with a phantom power mic preamp, not a gaming soundcard or a laptop. :)

I need a mic preamp now too, for my other headset, the HD250 Linear - it's not minor when you don't have it.
