Selling/Trading my Cyborg R.A.T. 5 Gaming Mouse
« on: Tue, 22 November 2011, 23:31:09 »
I have the R.A.T 5 that has been collecting dust for about a month now and I really have no use for it so I would like to sell it for $45. I will cover the shipping as long as it is in the CONUS.

Or I would like to trade it for some keycaps. Preferably for a 37 set of white engraved PBT caps or a 37 set of PBT rainbows.

The condition of the mouse is almost good as new. I used it as my primary mouse for about 4 months and the signs of wear on it is on the thumb rest. The mouse logo has one side that has faded from use. Also the bottom of the mouse has minor scratches from use. Everything else on the mouse is in great working condition and it still looks great as well. I have the original box and all the parts I will ship it with.

This is my first sell on GH as I am relatively new here

The box.

Have you had any other gaming mice you could compare this to?

Yeah, I replaced this one with the Razer Deathadder Black Edition. I felt more comfortable with the "roundness" of the Deathadder compared to the Cyborg, which is more flat.

One thing that has always perplexed me about this mouse: What's that weird knobby thing in the middle of it?

Ah, that controls the sensitivity of the mouse. There are 3 different levels that and there are LED lights on the side that will let you know what level of sensitivity you are on.

Edit: Correction, its 4 different levels not 3.

Hmm, if something happens to my G500, I'll be in touch. Or if a sister wants it.

I use a Cyborg RAT7 myself, it's one of the few mice that I can adjust so it's big enough for my HUGE GORILLA HANDS and personally I think it's great.  The switches and wheel on the front are actually wide enough that I can fit three fingers across them for comprehensive use, and the adjustable sensitivity settings are a real boon in games where you can go from reflex shooting to sniping and back very quickly.  It shouldn't make that much difference having four levels instead of the three I had before on my old Sidewinder (one of the other gaming mice that is built with GORILLA HANDS in mind but less adjustable so not for everyone), but it really does.

Yeah, I was going to get the RAT 7 instead of the 5, but the steep price was a little too much for me. The 5 also had everything I needed so I was okay with it. Both mice are great though and really sturdy.

BTW the mouse is still up for sale if anyone is interested!
