IBM / Lexmark 92G7455 Model M5-2 - trackball Model M
« on: Fri, 25 November 2011, 13:41:49 »
It's a 101-key buckling spring Model M, with a trackball mounted above the numpad. PS/2 connectivity via a dual-connector detachable SDL cable which is included. Two-piece keystems+keycaps. Includes an extra plastic retaining ring for the tracking ball and a purple Unicomp tracking ball in addition to the original one. Dated 1995-05-05.

Edit: pictures were lost in the forum rebuild.
I've attached a couple, not sure how or if they'll show up.

I used this for a while and eventually put it away because of two things:
  • The tracking ball is supported by bearings, and the places for the bearings to mount are broken. This causes it to track unreliably.
  • It has, in the past, sent keystrokes for keys that were not pressed. Keys are seated correctly so I suspect debris interfering with the membrane but a controller fault is not impossible.
Despite these issues, both the keyboard and the trackball do work. They just don't work perfectly.

40 CAD plus actual shipping cost, TBD.
Payment via PayPal is preferred.
Ships worldwide from Ontario, Canada via Canada Post.
