For me it would be my KeyTronic E03601 that I got last week at Goodwill. Ridiculously good condition, snappy, solid...Perfect for home (where I can be found coding late at night, so I don't want to keep my family awake clicking away at a Model M). Also love the huge Enter key. This keyboard feels really good.

Anyway, got it for $2.

What's your cool deal?

When I got two Apple Extended Keyboard II's plus Griffin iMate as well as a Compaq MX 11800 with Cherry Brown switches all for five US dollars. I would consider it the deal of a lifetime with one caveat, it made me want to try more mechanical keyboards. Ultimately I flew to Japan this summer and bought a Leopold FC500R with Cherry Red switches at the Cleverly Keyboard store in Tokyo. A cost of well over 1000 US dollars for the airplane ticket and 7800 yen (100 USD) for the keyboard (not to mention the train tickets from Yokohama to Tokyo). I tell myself I was going to Japan to see friends and relatives but who am I kidding, I wanted a keyboard.
Daily Driver: Leopold FC500R (Cherry Red)
Other Keyboards: Apple Extended Keyboard II (ALPS), Kinesis Contoured Essential (MX Brown), Keytronic LT Designer (Dome)
Previously Owned Keyboards: IBM Model M Spacesaver (BS), Compaq MX 11800 (MX Brown), TECHcessories Dinokidz (ALPS), Apple Aluminium Keyboard (Scissor)
Wishlist: Ducky (MX Black), IBM M13 (BS), Cherry G80-8200 (MX Clear), KBT Pure (MX Blue), Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition (MX Brown)

I have a couple Model M and several AEK I/II purchased for around $1 each from UW Surplus some years ago (sadly the days when items of that era were available is now gone). I also have a pristine Kinesis 120 (doubleshot keycaps) bought off Craigslist.

I got my Model M off Craigslist. Local gamer guy that had three, sold one for only $20. It was in excelent condition, quite the great deal.

After dozens of trips to the local shops, I have yet to see anything except rubber domes. I dunno if there is another local grabbing them before me, but I kind of given up on it.

I have a job where I drive around quite a bit. There are half a dozen thrift stores that I pass with some regularity, and a dozen more that I pass a few times a year.

When I have time, I stop in, and 90% of the time there is nothing (unless you like cool old weird clothes) but every once in a while there is a great Hawaiian silk shirt or interesting keyboard for $5 or less.

I have found a few Model Ms (all with some significant problem), numerous Apple Extendeds of various style, a Focus 2001, a Northgate Omnikey with a dead key, a non-working Cherry brown POS, some Microsoft Naturals (good old configuration) and the dreaded Milton-Bradley 101 Elderly/Educational.

Making an expedition for this purpose is not a good plan, but "just stopping by" in hopes of finding something 1 time out of 10 is much more realistic.

IMO

PS - I also live less than 5 miles from Rawko which is good
