I was cheated out of a contest win what can I do
« on: Tue, 06 December 2011, 02:06:31 »
Hey guys I recently partook in twitch tv's poster giveaway. The goal was to get the most likes and if you did you would win a poster signed by a bunch of starcraft pros. I don't have a lot of friends who would help me so I went on forums and posted I have a dota 2 key that I will give away, which I do. So I was able to get a majority of my likes from this. I also invited my friends saying that I was giving away some money if they won. However, I was not technically giving away money let me explain. I was going to offer the person the dota 2 key which since my friends don't really play video games they would most likely reject so I would direct them to my friend who does and would pay the stated prize amount for the key. I would not be giving away money technically. I would only be overseeing them obtaining a key and then they would be trading said key for money. So technically I didn't give away money. Also in the contest rules see here: http://blog.twitch.tv/2011/12/02/photo-contest-win-an-epic-dreamhack-poster-signed-by-15-sc2-pros/
There is NO rule saying I can not offer an incentive. The only reason I didn't say it was a key I was giving away, was because again the people I am friends with on facebook are not gamers. They would not like this unless I told them money was involved. They would obtain money but it was not from me I would only oversee them selling the key.
A fellow contestant mentioned that someone was possibly using a bot of some kind to win, So I posted on the twitch tv page mentioning that I saw a contestant that could possibly be using a like bot of some kind to win. I was polite and mentioned that to twitch. Here is a my post from last night asking about the bot.
However, I go to look on twitch and they say that they sent messages out to the winners. I didn't receive a message even though I had the most likes at the end of the contest. I checked this and confirmed it. When I went to look at my picture that was the most liked in the contest, to my dismay it was deleted along with all the people's names in the raffle for the key I had planned.
So TL I want to know what I can do about this, I know I had the most likes. I know I should have won, I followed the rules they set which said nothing about you can't offer a prize for likes. The fellow contestant I talked to about the bot blocked me and the person who was believed to use the bot blocked me as well. All my posts about the bot and my entry picture have been deleted.
Winning this contest meant the world to me, I offered up a dota 2 key ffs. I followed the rules and I feel I have been wronged. I went out of my comfort zone and invited all my facebook friends many of whom were very mean to me in high school to the event. I spent all day yesterday posting on forums asking for people like it. I feel I have been wronged and I posted on the twitch forums asking about it. Here is the link to my post on twitch concerning this http://support.twitch.tv/discussion/676/the-recent-starcraft-poster-give-away.#Item_1
I love twitch and they do great things but this is not ok.

REGARDING THEIR BELIEF THAT IT NEEDS TO BE OFF STARCRAFT OR TWITCH. IT NEVER SAID IT DID AND THE PICTURE IS OF TWITCH TV.
