RK-9000 Dupe Key Presses
« on: Sat, 10 December 2011, 13:48:34 »
A little over a year ago I bought a RK-9000 (cherry blues) from ChiefValue.  About a month ago it started to type certain keys twice after only one press.  It does it now multiple times per sentence and is really annoying/time consuming to correct all the time.  Tried removing the keycaps of the offending keys and re-seating them, cleaning out with compressed air (was clean to begin with - no spills/dust buildup) but nothing works.  Any idea how to fix this or do I need to buy a new KB? CV already said hey will RMA with a full refund, but I'd much rather keep this than buy a new mechanical kb. Any ideas appreciated!!

Would ya look at that, a whole slew of techniques for just this problem.  Thanks!

Well there's a void warranty sticker covering one of the screws, may kill my chance for an RMA...decisions..

Just wanted to update this that I fixed (or covered up) the dupe key press / chattering issue with my board by using WASD 40A O-rings on it.  Feel is a little mushier overall but it no longer does the double keystroke thing which is great.
